This story took me a while to actually get into. I would read a chapter and then read something else, but once the plot actually took off, I was fixed. "Playing By The Rules" gives you two polar opposite people who fall in love with each others characteristics while battling issues from the past and the present.
Caleb is a jerk. I mean that because he really was, but I love the fact that he was able to clean up his act and become more mature, and all of that was due to meeting Jennifer. Jennifer showed him who he truly was.
Take the time to enjoy this story. This isn't one of those basic, cliche 'bad boy meets good girl' or 'popular boy loves nerd girl'. Yes, the characters do have different social status's, but that is not what defines them.
