Welcome!
As everyone knows, THINKta has only recently started. To commemorate the day of its foundation, we decided to host a contest that will exhibit just what this group's purpose is.
Joining is a must if you're a Thinker! Learning starts within yourself. And the admins of THINKta will guide the contestants throughout the competition.
♦ The contest is open to everyone.
♦ To officially be considered as contestants, simply submit a 'dagli' or flash fiction consisting of 110-120 words with the theme Childhood Dreams.
♦ Deadline: September 18, 2016. Multiple entries are not allowed. Medium to be used are English or Filipino only. No in-between.
♦ Submit your piece to THINKtaPublishing@gmail.com with the letterhead 'CONTEST ENTRY.' Failure to comply will result in disqualification.
♦ There will be five judges for the audition proper. They will be required to choose between 'yes' and 'no', no more and no less. If a contestant gets three 'yes', he/she will be qualified for the next round.
♦ Those who passed the audition will be teamed up for round 1.
♦ Each team will work on a five thousand-word short story (at most) about history.
♦ Deadline: October 2, 2016
♦ Criteria for judging:
Structure/Plot - 45%
Was the story consistent all throughout? Does the plot make sense? Does it have a central theme? Is it original?
Presentation - 35%
Narration and Dialogue - 20%
Is the story's way of narrating catchy? Easy to understand? Does it have a defining voice?
An average of 90% and lower will result in disqualification.
♦ Details for the semi-finals and finals will be revealed on October 3 to avoid cheating.
Prize
- Top 15 finalists will have their piece compiled and turned to a book. Details on having a copy will be revealed on the final round.
- The ultimate winner will have the chance to get his/her story published under THINKta. Although he/she may pass this opportunity to another if he/she chooses to do so, but there will still be only one complimentary book given out. Further details will be discussed in the future with the winner for confidentiality.
- The team which will pass round 2 will be featured on all our social media accounts. And their wattpad works will be voted and commented on by the THINKta admins.
