THE CAST WERE FILMING A SCENE when the Russo's got the call.
"Winnie! Its your mum, its urgent!" Joe Russo exclaimed with a shaky breath. The cast looked at him curiously, Winnie quickly grabbed the phone and sat down in her chair.
"Mum?"
"Winnie please you have to get here, its your father!"
"Mum slow down, what about dad?"
"Honey, he was in a accident he's been treated but their flying him over to London as we speak! Its really bad."
"Ho-how bad?"
"He isn't.....he isn't going to make it, baby."
"Mum don't say that!"
"I'm being serious Winnie."
"Your just in shock he'll be fine!"
"Just please get here princess."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Winnie shakily hung up the phone and comprehended what to do. Her mum was just in shock, her dad was going to be fine and the accident wasn't bad. She hoped.
She quickly got off the chair and handed back the phone to Anthony Russo, who gave her a skeptical look."You okay? Do you need to go?"
Winnie shook her head and got back in her place, giving Sebastian a small smile to show that she was alright. Of course she wasn't her head was spinning. She was an idiot for carrying on but the girl was in shock herself. She didn't want to think the worst and she thought carrying on filming would help her.
Joe and Anthony exchanged looks and they quickly began filming again, still skeptical about Winnie.
Robert started to say his lines and Winnie was next but she couldn't keep up, her mouth was clamped shut, her face solemn as she realised that she really really needed to get to the hospital because her father might not survive. She felt stupid for still being on set!
Everyone waited for Winnie to say her lines, but they didn't come out her mouth instead her eyes started to water, she fiddled with her fingers and turned back to the Russo Brother's and whispered with a shaky breath.
"I need to go."
Then she started to run, grabbing her phone and jumping in her car.
*************
It was 3 hours before Winnie's father arrived at the hospital and it was manic. There was all sorts of tubes coming out of his mouth and it had looked to be like he had only one leg left, Winnie wanted to puke. There was so much blood. She had never seen so much in her life. The girl couldn't even recognise her fathers face, which was heartbreaking because every ones daughter should be able to recognise there fathers face.
Her phone kept ringing and beeping, she had to turn it off. She was thankful that her friends were worried about her but she had been hugging her broken younger sister. Winnie had never seen her family cry so much, Rory had left to get some food 2 hours ago but hasn't showed up since. Lily and Harmony were messes, they couldn't stop crying, their faces coated with misery and worry. Winnie was shocked at her mother though, she hadn't cried. She just sat their with a face pulled into a frown, only getting up to go to the toilet and get a hot drink.
It was 5 hours by the time the doctor had come out to the Watson family. He had a clipboard in his hand and a weak expression plastered on his face. Like he wishes he didn't have to be the ones to tell the family.
Winnie's mum sprang to her feet, her demeanour changing completely, what was once a tired woman was now a nervous woman."Doctor, is he okay? Please tell me my husband is okay."
The doctor looked down at the family and sighed, "I'm so sorry-" Winnie's heart fell as he said the words, her mother's face becoming wet with tears. "-there was nothing we could do. He passed away, while we were trying to clean up his leg. He lost to much blood, he hit his head hard and had parts of the bomb in his brain. It was a miracle he lasted as long as he did. I am so sorry. I truly am, he was a brave man." The doctor looked like he was about to cry, he had failed his job.
Winnie started panting as the doctor walked away glumly, she hugged her younger brother as he started sobbing. The Watson's were well and truly broken.
