4:00 am rolls around once more as Dallon rolls out of bed. He is actually excited about going into work because he knew he'd come out with Brendon. He'd no longer be all alone.

------------

"Dallon!" Brendon squeals when he sees the officer. "Hey Bren, you ready to go?" Brendon nods vigorously. Honestly why did Dallon even ask? The kids been stuck in prison for two months, of course he's ready to go.

"You can change when we get back to my place, that sound good?" The younger gives a nod in return, obviously giddy to get outside of the walls.

5:00 am leaves the roads mostly empty as Dallon drives back to his house. Brendon yawns from the passenger seat and the officer has to internally slap himself to keep from aweing at the boy.

"Can I go back to sleep when we get there?" Brendon asks through another yawn. "Of course buddy." Dallon says to the tired boy. He always seemed so much younger when he was sleepy.
----------
Back at the house Dallon ended up carrying the younger inside.

He sets him on the guest room bed and pulls the blanket up around the boy. "I'll see you when you wake up Bren." Dallon whispers even though the boy didn't hear him.
-----------
"D-D-Dallon..." Brendon whimpers. He steps into the kitchen in only his boxers   To find his friend sitting at the counter.

"What's up Brendon?" He asks obliviously. "I-I had another d-dream. I'm s-s-scared Dallon" the boy whimpers. "C'mere. They found him, no one else will get hurt by him I promise." The officer takes the boys cold , shaking body into his arms.

"But I l-let it happen to t-them. I c-could have h-helped" his shaking wasn't slowing even after Dallon had sat with him on the couch.

The boys balled up body lay in Dallon's lap. His face was on the officers chest and that's when Dallon realizes, this isn't the best time to be shirtless. The boy startles the taller and runs a hand down his chest, then his left arm and shortly after the right.

"Dallon" the boy squeaks. "You're all I have left, please, please don't do this to yourself." Dallon looks down shamefully. "I-I'm sorry." Brendon's mind seemed to have snapped off the dream as he was looking sadly down at his friend. This time it was the officer who was shaking.

"God, I can't not fuck anything up. I'm so sorry Bren. I should just be dead, no one...." Brendon pushes his finger up to the officers lips to shush him. Then before Dallon can process what's happening, the boy is filling the gap between them.

His hot breaths were so close before their lips finally touched. The taller wasn't expecting it, but he isn't denying it that's for sure.

Brendon is the first to pull away. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed." He whispers. "Well you assumed right, Bren" Dallon can see the blush rising on Brendon's face and oh how he likes what he sees.
