Grace's p.o.v-
After a while the train finally stopped and I was told by the trio who had now become close friends that we were here. I knew I wouldn't be able to talk with them a lot at hogwarts though if my parents found out they'd be absolutely furious, them being loyal death eaters even though Voldemort has been gone quite a while.

For some reason even though I get scared of many things, fear of physical pain has never really hurt me much. I'm much more scared to be hurt mentally, pathetic actually. I covered my bruised eye with my hair quickly and followed behind the trio.

As all the students get off of the train, I only now notice the weather. It was raining and utterly freezing no wonder it had been so warm in the train the heating must've been up to maximum. I then also take notice to many black carriages next to the train stop. I'm guessing they were the carriages taking us to hogwarts.

I stood next to my three friends like glue as i realised many people were staring at me I tried to hide behind them at one point when I saw Malfoy staring at me from behind the crowds. Even through the weather I picked my headphones up and placed them over my ears and the sound of Stevie Nicks strong yet still gentle voice managed to clam my nerves. I turned down the volume when Hermione turned around towards me. "Come on, Grace" she said ushering towards the carriages.

I heard a slight gasp and saw many whispers when Hermione said my name. Honestly how interesting do people think I am? Is it that shocking to have a new classmate? I saw Draco look down hearing my name and what I thought was a smile graced his soft features but it's Draco Malfoy! Malfoy's don't smile. I tried my best to ignore my assumption and entered the carriages along with Hermione, Harry and Ron.

I honestly couldn't help myself smile hearing her name. In a weird way it still suited her perfectly. She seemed like a Slytherin yet the name complimented her completely. Her features weren't sharp and she didn't walk around with a constant scowl on her face.

She had long blonde hair and crystal blue eyes, and her cheeks were always a bright red and it somehow seemed to irritate her. In my opinion it looked adorable. I keep thinking these things about her and I can't help it.

On the way to hogwarts in the carriage there was another deathly silence. "Hermione?" I asked quietly causing her head along with the others to shoot up. "Know a spell that could help my eye out a bit?" I asked nervously.

"Episkey..." She sighed. "Do you know any spells?" Harry asked from next to me. I did know many spells, most of them had to do with defence and potions since that was all I found in the library. "I know quite a lot when it comes to defence, attacks and potions but other than that I know nothing." I said.

My small conversation with Harry was cut off by a rather irritated Hermione "how can you act normal after what you told us on the train?" She said, it felt like she actually cared. "Hermione, I'm sorry it's just normal for me." I said back and it was true it was all I ever knew. "You've been hurt so much and your not broken?" She asked quietly. I sighed "Hermione cheer up, I'm happy I'm here now, they aren't here to hurt me anymore." I spoke back a happy smile on my face.

Realisation hit her and out of nowhere she hugged me "do your best to get into Slytherin, I'll still be your friend." She said and it felt like she was on the brink of tears. I returned the hug and it felt so weird yet really really... Nice at the same time.

The carriage door opened as it stopped. Me and Hermione pulled away and stepped out. Everyone's luggage had already been sent to their rooms. As soon as I stepped out of the carriage I was met with professor Dumbledore. I was in shock he would actually meet me by the front doors.

"Miss Grace Jenkins, am I correct?" He asked politely looking at me. My parents talked about Dumbledore quite rudely, practically like he was the plague. In reality he seemed like quite a gentle person. "Yes professor Dumbledore, that would be me." I said and offered him a warm smile. He smiled gently back at me "I see you have met Hermione, Harry and Ron. I had a feeling you would be friends but I'm sorry to say I must borrow Miss Jenkins now for a moment while you prepare for dinner, you will see her there." The three nodded and looked at me smiling before walking towards the doors leaving me with Dumbledore. "Please take my arm Miss Jenkins" her said gently and as I did so I felt myself being evaporated.

I landed in office or study. I was guessing it belonged to Dumbledore and I watched him as he reached above a shelf and took a hat down. A hat that I instantly recognised as the sorting hat. "You are aware that you will need to go through the same as everyone else right miss?" He asked calmly. I nodded my head. "I'm sorry but I must begin the assembly before I introduce you. You will have to wait behind the doors before I ask you to enter is that okay?" He said once again very calmly. "Yes sir" I answered and with that we evaporated to the same hallway the great hall was in.

The doors were wide open and I could hear everyone talking with excitement. "Please wait here until I call you, Grace, oh and please pay attention to my words before I introduce you also." I nodded obediently and watched as he turned and entered the hall and each voice instantly stopped and all I could hear was his footprints stepping down the hall that I had no idea what even looked like, nor how many people were in there. I made me nervous but I didn't dare move my headphones for around my neck as I was still curious to Dumbledores words.
