Chapter One: Introductions are overdue

I start to open my eyes "Miss Querem" a female voice calls as I start to sit down "Do you feel alright, Miss Querem?" the same female asks "I feel dizzy, what happened to me?" I ask as I rub my head "May I serve you a glass of water?" she asks and I nod "Can you tell me where am I?" I ask as I take a sip of water "You are in Bermic, to be more specific you are at Sheik Siba's palace" she answers and I start to cough, the female taps on my back "Are you alright?" she asks "Bermic? What in the world am I doing in Bermic?" I ask "You are supposed to be marrying the sheik" she answers "What? No, I was on my way to the United States, how I ended up here?" I ask "The Shiek brought you here" she answers and I frown "Brought me? I don't understand" I say **LIGHTBULB** "He drugged me" I say and the female looks at me "Excuse me?" she asks "I was in line waiting to board the plane, when Ali baba appeared out of nowhere, drugged me" I answer and the female looks at me "I doubt the Sheik would do something like that" she says "Well, he did and I want to go home" I say as I start to get off the bed "Miss Querem" she calls "I am supposed to be on my way home, not here waiting to walk down the aisle to marry Ali baba, I am going home" I say as I search for my bag and my shoes "Miss Querem, I am afraid you can't leave, Sheik Siba has given direct orders to everybody to not allow you to leave your chambers" she says and I look at her "He is imprisoning me? He can't do that, that's kidnapping" I say "I am afraid that as Sheik, he can do as pleased" she says and I buff "Go get Ali baba, I want to have a word with him" I say and the female obeys.

"Introducing, his royal highness, Sheik Siba" the female introduces as Ali baba enters to the room "Querem, I am..." "I am not going to be marrying you, I demand to be released, and sent home this instant" I snap at him and he looks at me, like if I was an alien "You were promised to me in..." "Stefan promised you his daughter's hand in marriage, I am not his daughter, not let me go" I say cutting him off in mid sentence "Are you saying that Sheik Stefan lied to me to get a political alliance out of me?" he asks "I ignore the answer to that question, all I want is to go home" I answer and he sighs "ASTRID" he calls and the woman who has been assisting me bows before Ali baba "Make sure Querem gets whatever she needs, but she is not allowed to leave this chamber until I return" he orders and I frown "Where the heck are you going?" I ask as he heads to the door "I am going to get to bottom of this, because if Sheik Stefan lied to me, he is going to regret it" he says in a deep dangerous voice making all my hairs go erect, and not in a good way.

I walk from one side of the room to the other "Who does he believes he is?" I ask "He is the Sheik of Bermic" Astrid answers "He can't keep me hostage, I have rights" I say "Rights that do not have any value here in Bermic, Miss Querem" Astrid adds and I look at her "So basically, Ali baba can do whatever it pleases him with me and nobody can do anything about it?" I ask "Sheik Siba is our ruler, he makes the law effective, but he is also the law, so yes, he can do as he pleases, and the only one who can actually do something is the King" Astrid answers "Perfect, I'll go talk to the king, maybe he will help get out of here" I say "I am afraid that meeting the King will not be possible, you need Sheik Siba's permission to do so" she says and I sigh "My freedom is in the hands of Ali baba?" I ask "Yes, and he would consider giving you your freedom, if you would treat him with respect and not call him Ali baba" she says, right, that man is her Sheik, by calling him names I am offending her, besides my mother would punish me, if she knew that I was calling people names, specially people with titles that can throw me in dungeons forever, I have to remember my manners, even when Ali baba doesn't deserve any courtesy "I'll try my best not to call him like that again" I say and she nods.

"Bow before Sheik Siba" a male voice says and I look at Ali baba "And?" I ask him "Sheik Stefan explained me the situation" he answer "He told you that I am a bastard" I say and he looks at me "I do not like the way that statement sounds, but you are correct, your father informed of his indiscretion, of which you were the result of, which means you are his daughter, in conclusion, our original agreement was still valid" he says and I frown, was? Original agreement? "What are you saying Aliba..." **Coughs** I look at Astrid and she makes a face "I'm sorry, what are you trying to say, your highness?" I ask "You are not wife material for the Sheik of Bermic, so your father and I had to come to a new sort of agreement" he answers and I frown "What agreement?" I ask "You are no longer my future wife, from this moment on you are my possession, I aim to do with you as I please" he answers "What is that supposed to mean?" I ask "Am I not speaking clearly?" he asks "You called me a possession" I answer "Because you are my possession, I told your father that I am not interested in been married to an outsider, much less a child born out of wedlock, not to say unrespectful woman" he says and I look at him "So I tried to return you to your household, but your father told me he doesn't want anything to do with you, neither wants you back, so he said that as apology for offering an unworthy girl as a wife, he said I could keep you, and that I could do with you as I pleased" he says "You can't do that" I say "You are in Bermic and last time I checked, I am the Sheik of Bermic, so I can do as pleased" he says "I..." "I am tired of your nonsense, you are going to stay here with me forever and you are going to be whatever I want you to be" he says, I fight my tears "You can't do this to me, he can't do this to me, I want to go home, you are nobody to decide over my life, sent me home" I demand as tears pile up in my eyes "As I told you before, you don't get to opinion in this matter, so if you don't want me to sell you as slave you better start behaving around my presence" he says and he walks out of the room.
