Heart beat was all that could be heard
The terrified, pulsing heartbeat of Amy who was sweating, tossing and turning in her slumber when suddenly she sat straight up, letting out an ear piercing scream
The doctor clumsily scurried to her room and threw the door open, "Amelia?!"
Amy panted and held her face in her hands, shaking and breathing heavily
"Amelia?" The doctor repeated as he approached her bed
"Doctor!" Amy whimpered and threw her arms around his neck
He hugged her before gently pulling away and pushing the damp hair away from her face, "night terror?"
Amy nodded, almost in shame that she'd made such a big deal out of a silly night terror
He smiled weakly at her and held out his hand, "Come along pond."
Amy took his hand as he led her to the couch
The doctor sat down and patted the seat next to him, urging her to join him
As she did, the the doctor put on a comedy and leaned back
In no time, Amy was fast asleep again, resting on the doctors shoulder
He smiled, rested his head on hers, and whispered soothing words to her to prevent any more dreadful night terrors
