CHAPTER SIX
BEING HANNAH
ONE MONTH AFTER THE 1st DAY OF SCHOOL
Hannah's POV
"So," Erin begins as we walk into Starbucks, "I was thinking about the Winter dance coming up, and I've decided you guys HAVE to go!" She says. I sigh and push my red hair out of my face.
"Erin, I already told you guys I don't want to be doing that type of stuff before I start my record label. It's the day after the dance," I tell her.
She sighs in defeat and looks at Sara for her opinion. She shrugs her shoulders and continues sipping her coffee quietly. "I don't really care," Sara says looking at us both.
Before she can say another word, Noah and his brother walk in with their football friends and pull a table up to ours.
To summarize, Erin and Noah's brother, Cody, are still together, and after a few weeks, Noah asked me out and we are now apparently the second cutest couple (Gianna and her boyfriend beat us.).
"Hey girls!" Cody says in his deep voice as he pulls a chair up and stretches. He puts his arm around Erin and smiles.
Noah comes over and sits by me. I turn to him and he smiles.
We begin to all talk again as the matter of the dance is brought up. Erin whines her way through like she always does and I finally have to say I will go and so does Sara.
Sara and i both say goodbye and go our separate ways. Another thing that has happened since Sara and I got here is that we each got a car of our choice which makes our live even better. I jump into my silver camero and drive back to the house.
I walk up the marble steps and open the door. "I'm home!" I yell to anyone in the house as I make my way to my room. When I get there, there are several things on my bed; a bouquet of flowers, the newest issue of Seventeen, and a card.
I can only guess the magazine is from Gianna as I open the slip of paper stuck in the bouquet. I read it silently and smile. It's from Noah. Even though we only met a little over a week ago, I feel like I've known him forever. He's the best. I read the card again, this time out loud.
Hannah,
I know we haven't known each other long, so here's our chance;
Will you go tithe dance with me?
-Noah
I smile again and fall on to my bed smelling the various flowers.
Now is the card. I look at the small, off white envelope in my hand and see my name written on the front in loopy cursive letters; handwriting I don't recognize. I slowly pull on the flap and open the card which reads:
Dear my dearest Hannah,
I know you don't remember me, and I don't blame you. I've been out of your life since you we're two, but I've finally found you. I'm your mom.
I freeze at reading the last sentence. My mom? I feel like I'm about to cry, but I keep reading;
I'm so sorry that I left you. I was ill mentally and needed help. I was released last May, about seven months ago, and given a firm health report.
I know you most likely don't wish to speak to me, but if I'm wrong, I'd love to meet with you soon. My address and phone number are below in case you want to meet up.
Love,
Jessica
For several minutes, I hold my breath, motionless, looking at her name.
My mom's name.
In an instant, I begin to cry. All the emotions I've held back for months, years, come flowing out. My mother found me and wants to meet with me?
Even though I abandoned my plan and replaces it with a new life, it some how came back to me.
Another day. Discovered, but not. Unowned.
----------------------------------------------------
I wake up to find myself still on my bed. I must have fallen asleep. I stand up and go to the mirror and look at my tear and mascara-stained face and wash it off.
For now, I've decided to hold off the thought of my mother. I have a record label to start, a dance to go to soon, and a life to live until then.
I'm brought back to reality as I hear a knock on the door. "Hey," Sara says as she walks in. "I'm back. I went to all of the good stores, too. I got you something," she says smiling and pulling out a shirt from one of her dozens if bags. "Wow. Thanks, Sara," I say back smiling.
"So, I already talked to marli, Gianna, and Erin, and we decided to go shopping tomorrow for the dance. You in?" She asks.
"Yeah, sure," I say, keeping my plastic smile on.
"Wow!" Sara exclaims changing the subject fast. "Did Noah send these? They're gorgeous!" She asks as she picks up the flowers.
"Yeah," I say, "he's so sweet."
Tell her, I tell myself. Tell her what the card is about, but I keep my mouth closed.
Not today.

Hello!
So I know I promised I wouldn't make any short chapters now, but I had to!
First, I was really wanting to get this chapter out, and second, if I went any further, I'd have no chapter seven!
Yep, that's right! Chapter seven's going to be AMAZING!
Sorry! Now, you're going to wait for five days, LONG days, for chapter seven, but I promise it's worth it!
