BEING HANNAH
CHAPTER 8
NOAH'S POV
"Hannah," I sigh through the phone as I leave my girlfriend....well ex girlfriend....a voicemail for the 8th time today.
"We really need to talk. I know you're mad at me, but you have to believe me. Gianna and Erin set me up. If you really knew them, you would believe me," I run a hand trough my spiked hair and sigh again. "Just.....call me. Please," I say the last word urgently as I hear the click of the ed of my message on my phone as I hang up. I finally got the guts to go walk around at the Chestnut Mall to clear my mind, but instead here I am, on a bench at next to the Marykay makeup store, calling Hannah.
Before I can even take a breath, two figures come up to me, one strutting, the other slinking behind.
Hannah.
"Hannah...." I begin before I'm cut off by Gianna who has a smug smile on her face.
"Save it, Hun," she says in her sassy tone. "She's over you, get over it. You cheated and now you're back where you started; a pathetic looser looking for attention," she says smirking.
That's it. I've had it. I can't do this. Suddenly, I any hold it back any longer, and I lunge at Gianna yelling. She falls down and I pin her to the carpet quickly.
"What the he-" she says before I cut her off.
"Save it Hun," I say mimicking her voice perfectly, "spreading fake rumors won't save you now. Why don't you tell Hannah what you were doing when Sara got home yesterday, hmmmm? That's right, I saw you and Erin tip-toeing around spying and laughing at them," I say. Gianna goes pale and wide-eyed instantly.
Bingo.
--------------------------------------------------
HANNAH'S POV
I stand silently and helpless and Noah wrestles Gianna to the ground. She spits and cusses at him for what seems like forever, until Noah catches me. He asks Gianna about.....what?
"Is that true Gianna?" I ask quietly, barely able to whisper the words. I'm shaking like crazy. Could this really be happening?
"Hannah," Gianna begins as she gets away from Noah and takes a step closer to me. I'm just ask quick to take a step back. "You....planned that?" I ask as she stares at me silently, contemplating wether to take another step or not.
At that very moment, I realize it.
Gianna was never my friend. What Noah said was true. Gianna betrayed me for some revenge.
I turn to Noah. "You weren't lying," I say and he nods. "I could never do that to you, Hannah," he says in a comforting tone and taking a step closer to me with his arms almost open into a hug. Suddenly, my eyesight blurs as I tear up and run into the nearest store with a bathroom and begin to bawl.
--------------------------------------------
NOAH'S POV
I dash into Marykay trying to follow a bawling Hannah. "Hannah!" I yell as one last attempt before she slams the door to the bathroom. I put my ear close to it as I an still her sniffling and crying, so I decide to wait. Boyfriend or not, I still care about her.
I glance around and notice everyone staring at me. Dang.
Then, I realize someone running in my direction with a very eager face.
Gianna. Again.
"Speak of the devil," I mutter as she gets closer. She gives me a killer glare and turns to the door.
"Hannah. I'm so sorry! We were trying to protect you! Noah's still not who you think, believe me! He has so many secrets....," she trails off glancing at me rudely.
I'm just about to say something when the door flies open. Gianna looks at me with a smug smile that says, "I got her out of that bathroom, not you." I glare back and look at Hannah who is mascara-streaked and has puffy, red eyes.
She turns to Gianna. "Go away Gianna. I don't care what you say. I don't need to know every detail about my boyfriend and I certainly don't need a two-faced biotch in my way, so just go," she says. I can tell how hard she's trying to be brave, but it's not working. It's just cute. I smile a little as Gianna opens her mouth to say something and then closes it and storms out of the store in a huff.
I turn to Hannah, waiting for a slap or her to cuss at me or something, but instead, she does the complete opposite.
She kisses me.
No, not a normal, "you're my boyfriend and I like you," kiss. This was a REAL kiss, and all I can say is wow.
----------------------------------------------------
HANNAH'S POV
I'm about to burst in to tears again when I tell Gianna to leave and then I remember I still have Noah to deal with.
Noah.
Dang, that was the longest three days without seeing him IN THE WORLD. I mean it. I have no idea what to say to him besides I'm sorry, so instead I kiss him. I take all the feelings of sadness and I just kiss him, but that's not the best part.
His look afterwards is even better.
He's I search his face for anything at all and find mostly surprise and a little relief.
"I'm so sorry Noah. I'm sorry for being a jerk and not answering your calls, for ignoring you when you wanted to tell me the truth, for everything. And I mean it. I re-," he cuts me off.
"It's fine. It was my fault in the first place. Lets just forget about it, ok?" He asks me smiling.
I smile back, "ok."
We walk out of Mary Kay hand-in-hand and smiling with dozens of people staring, and honestly, I didn't care.
--------------------------------------------
Man, this chapter was pretty good I think! I want to take a minute here and thank my BFF, Noah because of him awesomeness and weirdness. I'm mainly doing this to get his attention and let him know STOP SCARING ME IN THE HALLWAY. Haha!(: anyways, I also want to thank my friend Kaytlin, who is SO amazing and gorgeous! I read my chapters to her, and she cries through all of it! Yay! I mean, I hate people crying, but it makes me feel like my book is okay!!! Anyways, everyone have a great Christmas and the next chapter will be ready soon!
Kisses!
