"You're failing, Nathan. It's not just that your grades are slacking, you're really failing."
"I don't know what to tell you, Mr. Fredrick. I don't get it, and you sure as hell don't help," the student in front of him, Nathan Smith, practically growled. He sat up, putting his elbows on the desk and getting into his teacher's face.
"Nate, please stop. I'm signing you up for a tutoring session with one of my top students. You'll meet every Thursday after school in this room until next month, got it? The sessions will start tomorrow," Mr. Fredrick seemed set on what he wanted, which was to help his struggling student. Unfortunately there was nothing that he could do if the student didn't want to help him out in the process.
"This is fucking stupid!" he snapped, biting his lip hard enough to draw blood, "I'm not dumb! I just don't get it."
"Do this for me and yourself, Nate! You're failing and I assure you that without this help you will not get into college. Don't you want to do something with your life?"
"Of course I do! There's a reason I'm in choir, and music. Just about every musical related class, I'm in, because guess what? I want to be a damn musician! I don't want to be a mathematician or an engineer, or a scientist! I want to make music!" Nate was yelling at this point, getting so overwhelmed by the situation going on that he had to squeeze his eyes shut to keep tears from rolling down his cheeks.
Just when his teacher was about to yell at him again, the door opened.
A feminine looking figure was in the doorway, but it was quite obvious that it was a boy. He had brown hair that was splayed messily on his forehead because of the white flower crown on his head. He was wearing a white dress with a buttoned up black cardigan and he was absolutely... beautiful.
Suddenly he was skipping in, a bright smile on his face that dropped when he saw how angry and sad Nathan looked.
"Hey handsome! W-what's wrong?" he tilted his head to the side, approaching the taller figure and wrapping his arms around him. Nate melted into his touch, burying his face into his hair that smelled like vanilla and roses.
"I had a rough day," Nate mumbled, obviously relaxing as each second in the boy's arms passed.
"Can I try to make it better? I don't like it when people are sad," he frowned.
"Can I know your name?"
"Call me Mat," the small brunette smiled, moving away and standing on his toes to kiss Nate's cheek, "and I have made it my goal to make you happy today."
