Iwaizumi looked up to Yachi's room as he placed her glass of chocolate milk on the table, wondering why she wasn't out of her room yet. Yachi would usually already be by the table, ready for breakfast. Yet, there were no signs that she had gotten out of bed. Curious as to what had happened to her, he decided to peek into her room, checking up on her.

Gently knocking on Yachi's door, Iwaizumi paused for a moment, listening in for any movements. "Yachi?" He called, receiving no response. "I'm coming in," He announced, pushing the door open.

He let out a small sigh when he found his daughter still in bed, lying on her side with her covers pulled over her shoulders. She didn't seem to show any signs of waking up soon. Approaching her, he kept his footsteps lights, making sure he didn't give her a rude awakening. "Yachi..." He called out gently, lightly nudging her shoulder. "It's time to wake up. You have school, remember?"

The girl groaned in an uncomfortable voice, turning to lay on her back. Her face was pale, her lips bleached of their usual pink blush. Her brows were knitted, showing how uneasy she was feeling. Her skin glistered with sweat while she shivered. She cracked her eyes open, the sudden light harsh on her vision. "Da...ddy..." She croaked, using all the energy she had left.

Immediately, the gears within Iwaizumi switched. His soft looks hardened and his nursing instincts kicked in. He pressed the back of his hand against his daughter's forehead, feeling her temperature. He chewed the inside of his cheek at her abnormally high temperature, his mind running down on a list of what he should do.

"Daddy..." She nudged him, shaking him out of his thoughts. She looked up to him helplessly with pleading eyes. "I don't feel so good..."

"Hey, it's alright." Iwaizumi said, pushing her hair away from her face. He lowered himself by her side, wiping her sweat away with the back of his hand. "I'm here," He pressed his lips against her forehead gently before stroking her hair. "I'll make sure you feel better soon, alright?"

Walking out of Yachi's room carrying the half eaten congee he had miraculously managed to make, Iwaizumi looked up to find Oikawa helping himself in. The brunette closed the door quietly behind him, pursing his lips into a strained smile as their eyes met. "Hey, Iwa-chan... How is she?"

"Her temperatures going down but it fluctuates," Iwaizumi explained, bringing the dishes to the kitchen. Oikawa peeked into the girl's room, checking up on her sleeping form.

Yachi laid on her bed holding onto her favorite plushie with her covers pulled under her chin. A fever patch covered her forehead, helping her with the temperature. Her once clammy skin was looking better, with Iwaizumi constantly wiping off her sweat, making sure she was as comfortable as possible.

"Do you think it's just a common cold?" Oikawa asked, following Iwaizumi into the kitchen.

"Hopefully," Iwaizumi's lips curled downwards as he placed the dishes into the sink. Despite how calm and collected the ravenette seemed, Oikawa knew that he was still anxious inside. He could almost read all the overwhelming questions running through Iwaizumi's head. A light smile danced on the brunette's lips, feeling proud of his childhood best friend.

"Souda," Iwaizumi suddenly remembered. "Who took over my shift?"

"Apparently KyouKen-chan took over your place after overhearing your call," Oikawa said, lightly shrugging.

"Kyoutani? But his shift finishes right before I start mine," Iwaizumi raised a brow.

"Oh well, he insisted on covering for you. KyouKen-chan's a huge fan of yours after all. I'm sure he –" A loud thud from Yachi's room interrupted their conversation. Immediately, they rushed into her room, swinging the door open with their breaths held. They both gasped when they found the girl sprawled on the floor, blond hair pooled on the floor. "Yacchan!"
