Haru's POV

I was walking down a pretty dark street. I never realized how late it was. I was swimming peacefully and didn't even notice the sun go down, so I quickly rushed home.

Just a couple more steps to go.

Just I as turned the corner to my street, I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I was surprised with myself that I didn't flinch.

I stopped walking and turned around slowly.

A tall man, probably around 5'10, was standing there. It was so dark that I could barely make out who it was.

"Haru, come with me"

I immediately recognized it as Rin's voice. Deep but soft. Like music to my ears.

"Where are we going," I asked. It was really odd that he wanted me to go somewhere with him this late at night.

"Just trust me," he replied. "You'll enjoy it."

What did he mean by you'll enjoy it? I was so tired that I could barely imagine myself walking any more.

"Okay," I said to Rin as I followed him out of my street. He led me, in contrast to my dark street, to a boardwalk completely lit with large yellow and orange lanterns.

Rin and I ended up at a bridge. He leaned on the railing and looked to me. I could finally make out his features. His chiseled jaw, his beautiful red eyes, and his sweet smile.

"Isn't it a beautiful night," he said to me. I looked out at the sea. The lanterns still lit the area, so I was able to see small waves forming on the water. I even saw a couple of pelicans fly near the water's surface.

"Yeah," I replied, "it is".

I felt, again, his hand touch me, only this time he grabbed my hand and intertwined his fingers with mine.

I flinched at this, and surprised, I looked up at him.

My heart was racing.

The right corner of his mouth was turned upwards, although he had the softest expression on his face.

"Haru," he stepped closer, "I need to tell you something. Something that I have should've told you a long time ago".

He stepped closer.

We were inches apart.

My mouth couldn't find any words. My heart was at maximum speed. I couldn't move.

He looked incredibly beautiful in the light of the lanterns.

"Haru...."
