Constantine POV

Standing in the open clear of the forest waiting for the mutts to arrive I look out to the sky. It is around 12:30 am 30 minutes after the meeting was supposed to start the moon is high in the sky. Ashton, Nick, and Drake stand with me as we await the mutts. Not the most punctual people are they? Not that I expected anything better coming from a mutt.

Drake stood silent as usual but I could tell he was on guard. His form was tense as his eyes scanned the terrain looking for any threats.

Ashton sighed " let's just leave it's obvious the mutts aren't gonna show. They probably got stuck home with fleas."

He smirked at the thought

As I was about to agree four very oversized wolves came out from all sides.

Immediately at attention Ashton and Nick went into defense. Drake stood already in position looking into the Grey eyes of the wolf coming towards him ready to attack at any time.

They begin to prowl closer to us their heads bent growling with their teeth bared as if ready to strike at any moment.

I looked around and saw my friends crouched in fighting position with their muscles tense their eyes glowing a warm red.

Before a fight began my voice boomed "Enough! We did not come to fight you. Where is your alpha? "

Immediately all eyes turned towards me. Nick and Ashton now slightly calmer relaxed their stance still wary of the wolves in front of them.

The hostile eyes of the wolves still stared me down and I stared right back. After a moment they growled softly and turned their head back towards the forest.

A large man came out slowly walking toward me his stature screamed alpha. However instead of hostile eyes ,like his men, his eyes were light, playful even.

"Sorry I didn't come with my men I shifted back right before getting here and wanted to make sure I was fully clothed before the meeting. "  he grinned sheepishly before looking around seeing the tense situation 

slowly his grin faded "Is...everyone ok?" at that his wolves relaxed letting out a throaty growl and shaking their large heads as if laughing at their leader

What a joke.I had seen him once at a conference before he was alpha but he just stood silent behind his father. He looked serious, mature, even calculating then.Obviously, my judgment was wrong.

With my Eyebrow cocked I said"Alpha Lockwood I presume?"

Scratching his head modestly he said " Ah I am still not used to such formalities i'm just in charge while father is away please just call me Luke. " He extended his hand towards me

I stared at it disinterested I came for a meeting not to play nice 

After a few moments of silence he slowly put his hand down, His stance changed to a more defensive one, his eyes narrowed, and he spoke with a different tone than before 

With emotionless eyes and a slightly deeper voice he spoke" You can tell a lot by a man's handshake and yours or should I say the absence of yours told me quite a lot about you. Let's move on with this meeting. " 

 My eyebrows furrowed was I just looked down upon by this mutt? 

He continued " Rogues have been raiding the neighboring packs at a higher frequency. They act as if they are under orders.It is becoming a big problem for us. I understand that your concern is very little for us "mutts" as one of your men said earlier but to my understanding, your clan has had some problems as well.We would like you to disclose any information as stated in our treaty and we will naturally disclose ours.
