Caught up in the moment;

14 years old

"Brennan I'm so sor-"

"It's not your fault,don't apologise"

"Brennan I feel really bad come here"I say with open arms

He leans his body towards me and he cried into my shoulder.To be honest I have never really seen Brennan cry so emotionally.He has always been the strong one out of the both of us and I'm normally the one crying into his shoulder but here we are.

"Brennan?"I ask after a few minutes of watching the colours of the sky reflect on the shivering water.

"Mm"He mumbles wiping away his tears.

"I-"I stopped myself.

"You what?"He says staring up at me.

"I"I gasp for air as I was just about to explain my seven years of feelings for him"I can't tell you,I'm,Im sorry"I say rushing to my feet and running towards the house.

"Annie!"His screams from behind me caught everyone's attention in the yard.

As the parents begun to try and catch up to me I noticed that Ava stopped them and convinced them to stay put.

I rushed towards my room with Ava only inches behind me,screaming out my name.

I let her I my room and I shut my blinds so no one can realise that I'm crying.

"I was so exited that they broke up I was just about to tell him my feelings nearly 10 minutes after it happened,I'm such an idiot"I say pacing back and forth with my arms crossed and anger and emotion rush through my body.

"Annie stop!"Ava says jumping up from where she was sitting on my bed and placing her hands on my forearms to stop me from moving."Your not an idiot"

A pause trebled in my voice.

"Just please stay here with me for a bit longer,I'm not ready to go out there"I say into her shoulder as I hug her for support.

"I would never leave you Ans you know that"She whispers as we sit on the edge of my bed and I begin to cry,just like I said I was never the strongest one.
