Avoid;

14 years old

All I have done for the past two weeks is avoid my best friend and it kills that I don't have the guts to explain everything.

I have told my parents and Brennan's parents that Ava and I have a project to do after school so instead of going to Brennan's like normal I have been using the same excuse for two weeks and people are starting to notice.

I basically haven't left Ava's side besides from when we have different classes.

My least favourite class is music,not because I hate it or anything,because it is one of the classes Brennan and I are alone in(which out any one else of their friends).

"You need to explain Annie,this whole homework excuse thing is about to run out"Ava saying leaning against the locker beside mine as I organise my book for today.

"I know,I really want to tell him as well but I can't"I say not turning away from the locker in front of me.

"Why not he's your best friend"She groans to me.

"Yes,but that one confession can ruin our almost 14 year relationship"I argue back.

"Okay but knowing Brennan he won't care"She says applying more lip gloss.

"You never know"I say closing my locker and gripping onto my books and shove my phone into the back pocket of me jeans.

"Speaking of the devil"She says eyeing down both Brennan and Nick as they walking down the hall in our direction.

"Let's go"I mumble and begin to walk away with my head down.

"Annie"I hear Brennan's voice but I keep walking.

"She won't talk to you man,stop trying"I hear Nick comment

"Give her space gosh"I hear Ava speak to them as she fumbles behind me.

Annie-I'll walk home today,need the exercise.
Mom-What about the homework thing with Ava
Annie-We finished it
Mom-Okay I'll arrange for Miss Jill to start picking you up again.
Annie-Okay

I shoved my phone in the back of my jean pocket as the last bell rang.

I know that I possibly couldn't avoid him forever so I may as well start by going back to normal.

I begun to walk home,I haven't walked home in ages.

It was nice to see the wind rustle the leaves on the trees and kick  the same pebble until you come to a curve and then find a new one to kick.I missed it.

"I'm going to bed,night"I yell through the house as I ran up the stairs.

I heard faint "goodnight"s from them all before closing my door.

It had felt like every minute I had turned my head and checked the time.

It was now 11:46

My eyes blurred as I stared at the digital clock on my bedside table.I couldn't go to sleep,something in the back of my mind kept me awake up until now.

My eyes fluttered open and shut as I try and relax to get some sleep.

I turned my focus away from the clock to the dark gloomy roof above me.

Bang
Bang
Bang

Soft noises signal from my window.

I reach to my feet and open up my window.

I see Brennan holding look alike pebbles with the ones I kick along the path.

"What are you doing?"I whisper yell to him
