The faint smell of grass lingered in the air, the green stalks stood tall around our bodies spread out. The sky was crystal clear, only blue skies could be seen for miles. Families sat with each other, talking and playing happily. Picnics were set out nearly across the field by multiple people.

Justin laid next to me. His arm touched my own, I could feel the hair standing tall on his arm as the soft, cool wind blew past us. I could smell his cologne and aftershave mixing together to create an intoxicating smell. I turned my head subtly, taking in his appearance. His eyebrows furrowed while the brightness of the sun hit harshly against his eyelids. His lips were dry, the small cracks and dints becoming visible against the light. His hair was messy, the blonde was impossibly bright against the radiance of the sun. It stuck up in all directions.

"Mm." My eyebrows raised and my eyes fluttered as I heard a small sound of contentment leave my throat. Justin glanced over at me in response, he raised an eyebrow at me and squinted painfully against the light. I found myself keeping my stare on him as his eyes ran up and down my face, he looked peaceful. "I like it here."

He let out a steady breath and turned back to look at the sky. His hands came behind his head and the rigidity that were his fingers clasped together for the support of his head. His fingernails were short, chipped around the edges.

My eyes moved to his neck, the tattoo stood out boldly, getting all the attention. The small, golden hairs stood up on his neck.

"Me too." His throat was dry, his words left the dry tunnel one by one, flying into the air and getting shot down by the silence that followed.

My legs folded against each other as I let out a sharp sigh. My teeth attacked the surface of my lip, I shielded my eyes away from the burning sun.

"Hey," Justin's words were soft and quiet but they did their purpose and caught my attention. I turned to looked at him. He flicked his finger towards him, I bit back a smile as I laid down, but this time, I rested my head on his shoulder. He draped his arm over my shoulder and his fingers instantly started to run along my skin, I felt the hairs on my neck stand to attention as I shivered. "I love you." His lips met the side of my head, they lingered and left a tingle in that spot.

The air became warmer, everything seemed brighter while I laid in his embrace. The grass was greener, the sun was gleaming down even harder on us, everything was good.
