She was really angry now.

She swore: once she'd get hold of that brother of hers, he'd be sorry he had ever been born.

She had been waiting for hours now, waiting for Matthew to come back after rudely leaving her in that side of the street on the way to their house in the countryside. He was supposed to drive her there but stopped halfway, realizing that he had forgotten to bring something and went back to a convenience store they had passed on the way to buy some (what was it, she didn't know; she was basically kicked out of the car before she could ask anything).

And now she was here, leaning against a tree and thinking what she'd do to her dear brother once he'd come back.

She figured the view was relaxing (the cool and unpolluted air, the green and wide landscape that she could see far distant hills of the country, the bright, blue sky, the absence of the constant honking of vehicles), which was the reason why she was on her way to the countryside. The last few days was stressful; she wanted a time-out, however short it would be.

It seemed like a life-time when she finally saw Matthew's vehicle zigzagging on the paved road and coming towards her.

With her hair whipping around her face, she looked menacingly at the tinted black window of the car as it swerved to a stop a few paces in front of her.

The driver's door opened and she immediately opened her mouth to say the words she had been rehearsing in her mind for the past forty minutes.

But it died in her throat once she saw the person getting out of Matthew's car that was definitely not Matthew.

Suddenly, her heartbeat quickened.

Logan.
