Chapter 4

Later...

Zoey POV

I went downstairs, and unlocked the door. I brought Riker a tray with his dinner on it. He had chicken and rice. And a new bottle of water. I locked the door, and set the tray down on his bed. He sat up.

"Thanks," he said, pulling the tray closer to himself.

"You're welcome. Is there anything else you need?"

"I don't think so... Um... Unless maybe you could answer a few questions."

I sat down on the end of his bed.

"Sure. What are they?"

"Did your brothers post the video yet?"

"Yes."

"Did my family respond?"

"No..."

"How long ago was it posted?"

"Maybe... About 4 hours ago...?"

Riker sighed.

"I'm sure they saw it. They probably just went to the police."

He closed his eyes, and covered his face with his hands, sighing again.

I sighed too.

"Riker, I know this isn't fun for you-"

"It freaking sucks! I want to be on tour! That's where I'm supposed to be right now! I should like lock you in the bathroom or something, and not let you out until your brothers let me go! This isn't fair! None of it is!"

I was sort of nervous now...

"Riker... Calm down. Please don't lock me in the bathroom. I honestly don't think my brothers would let you go. And I'd stay stuck in there."

Riker looked up at me. There were tears forming in his eyes.

"I just want to go home," he whispered.

My heart was breaking for him.

"Riker... I know... I get it. But look at it this way. You're not handcuffed anymore. You can go wherever you want down here. You get food and drinks. It could be a lot worse. You could be chained to a wall in a dirty basement, forced to sit on the floor and not move. You could be starved, and not given water or bathroom breaks. For being kidnapped, you have it pretty easy."

"Well... When you put it that way, this seems amazing... But I'm not used to being away from home and my siblings."

"Um... You go on tour. Isn't that away from home?"

"Yeah... But the tour bus is my home. I'm just homesick. You can't blame me!"

He pushed the tray of food away from him, and curled up in bed. One of his tears fell, and made a spot on his pillow.

"Riker. I'm sorry, ok? But there's nothing I can do."

"Um, you could let me go! You have a key! Unlock the door, and let me go."

"I'll get blackmailed, Riker! I don't have money to go to another college!"

"Fine. I'll give you the money! Please just let me go!"

"Riker, I can't."

"Then I can't let you go back upstairs."

He grabbed my wrists, and pulled me close to him. My breath caught in my throat. I closed my eyes tight. He's actually hurting my wrists a little. He has a very tight grip.
