"And If Your Father Really Hates Me, Wait Until You're Carrying My Baby...."
Melody
The bright sun peaked through the blinds of Zavian and Melody's room. The dazzling light had too much of a strong glow. The glow was so strong, it could be seen all the way from inside the bathroom. That is where Melody sat on her knees with her head planted in the toilet as she slept. The events that transpired the night before made her body feel worn out and tired. She had no recollection of what happened the night before. All she remembered was taking back three shots. Everything else was a blur.
The beams from the sun hurt her eyes and stirred her out of her sleep. Melody slowly opened her eyes to find an eyeful of the puke in the toilet bowl. Jumping back, she lost her balance and fell backwards on the floor. "Mm!" She groaned and whined at the sharp pain in her back before she sat up and scooted back until her back reached the tub. Her head was pounding constantly and now she had to deal with pain seeping through her back from the hard fall. Her hair was in shambles and felt brittle. Her mind tried to come up with a proper excuse explaining why she was sleeping in the bathroom but couldn't come up with anything.
Melody took a moment to scan the bathroom for anything that could lead to the reason why. After a few minutes of doing this, she sat there confused and stumped. She'd never gotten drunk in her entire life. So, she didn't understand a hangover. Melody usually drunk moderately but last night, her nerves led her to get wasted. "Where is Zavian?" She pondered to herself as she rose to her feet and cautiously made her way out of the bathroom to find him knocked out on the bed. The loud snoring that came from him made her chuckle.
She'd never heard him snoring like a bear. Zavian's snoring was usually light but today it was abnormally loud. She walked to his bedside and grabbed some Advil from the nightstand before quietly making her way back inside the bathroom. Once there, she took two of the pills for her aching headache and got the chance to smell her own horrendous breath. "Eww" She whimpered and reached out to grab her toothbrush when she finally saw it. The cheap ring on her ring finger. Freezing, she examined the ring with her eyes then burst out into hysterical laughter.
"I bought a cheap ring last night. Oh my gosh! Wait until I tell Harmony" Shaking her head, she shrugged the ring off with a giggle then proceeded to brush her teeth. After she finished, she walked back out the bathroom to find Zavian sitting up with his head in his hands. "Hey..." He flinched at the sound of her voice then turned to look at her with red eyes. "Baby, I got drunk as fuck last night. My head is fucked up and shit. At least I ended up in this bed and not some random ass woman's bed" He chuckled as he ran his hand over his face.
Melody let out a soft snicker and climbed on the bed, sitting on her knees beside him. "I think I got drunk too and look what I did" She held out her hand in front of him. "I bought a cheap ring that will most likely turn my finger green" Zavian eyed the ring with his eyebrows furrowed then grabbed her hand and brought it up to his eyes so he could get a closer look. "What? It's just a cheap ring" Zavian nodded slowly then smiled at her. "I know. I just remember something about this ring. I don't know what though" He raised his hand to scratch his head and Melody raised her eyebrows at the sight of the band wrapped around his ring finger. "You bought a cheap ring too. Look" She grabbed his hand and pulled it in front of him. "Looks like a wedding band" She said through her cracked chuckles. "Silly, huh?"
"Yeah. Silly as hell" Zavian joined in on her chuckling before he abruptly stopped at the sight of the paper sitting on the nightstand. "What's this?" He grabbed it off the nightstand and began to read it. Melody stopped chuckling and gazed at him while he read the document. After he finished, he looked up from the paper and blinked a few times before his lips curled into a smirk. "Well?" Melody looked back and forth between the paper and him. "What is it?" Zavian shrugged nonchalantly and shook his head as he spoke in a high pitched tone, "Oh, nothing"
