chapter 6

Felina's p.o.v.

I sighed as I sat on the roof of the house that the hokage let me have.  We made a deal that I would start paying rent when I started going on missions and making money.  Though...I can't sleep.
      I've had this strange feeling I haven't felt in a very long time.  So long, that I forgot what it was called.
      I look at the rising moon and sigh, frowning.  Today the team and I encountered some visiting ninjas from the sand village, and I noticed one in particular, Gaara.
     I've only heard rumors about him, but I can sense that there's a deep pain in his heart...one that I can relate to.  I don't believe that he is a monster...since I can see he can't help the way he is. 
Just like me...

      I sigh and start humming a quiet tune, one that wolves sing when they're sad.  It's one that only my kind and beings like Zorakuba know.  Though I haven't discovered others that know the song...well, the song is a reflection of sadness.  Only those who experienced true loss and despair can learn it outside the clan.
       
3rd person p.o.v

Gaara walked with the three sand nin as they made their way to the inn they were staying at, and suddenly Gaara paused.  "Do you hear that?" He asked as he looked in the direction of the soft sound he heard.
   The others looked up and frowned.  "All I hear is a wolf howling..." Temari said as she looked around.  Kankuro nodded and shrugged as they continued to walk.
       It doesn't sound like a wolf to gaara...he recognized the voice who was singing the soft tune, but he didn't know the person's name.
       Gaara paused before turning towards the sound. "You go on without me...I'll be back later," gaara said in a monotone voice as he walked away.
     The other two were confused but decided to move on to the the inn.
     Gaara continued walking towards the sound, before stopping and looking up alittle to the roof of the house.  Shukaku seemed...calm.  usually he is lively at this time, but he seems to be quiet...not there even.

Felina's p.o.v

I sat and continued to sing quietly.  It calmed me when I was remembering...

I pause for a moment, sighing sadly as I look down.

It's been so long since I've had a "home"...it's nice, but it always brings up memories of my family and home village.  It...wounds me to think of them...to remember the warmth of their love, the happiness that was taken away from me so cruely.

3rd person p.o.v.

Gaara watched Felina quietly, noting her sorrowful gaze.  He paused, before slowly walking back to the hotel.  He was confused as to why he felt so calm.  He had no idea and it slightly scared him to think of it.

But what exactly happened to shukaku to make him so calm?
