A/N: Please remember that this does not affect the Baby Series. You lose the baby or have a miscarriage has been requested a few times, so we decided to make it like an alternative ending to the series.

A miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy before 20 weeks. So these happen somewhere between #3 Telling him and #8 First Ultrasound (so you don’t know the genders yet or (in Niall’s) that you are having twins) We have put them under a read more, as we understand it’s a sensitive topic and not everyone wants to reads it.

It’s not extreme or anything, but we just wanted to make a note that this preference could be: TRIGGER / CONTENT WARNING: it mentions miscarriage, blood, anger, tears and strong emotions.

And a warning they are sad. I almost cried writing these and I haven’t cried while writing before..

LIAM:

You pulled the blanket tighter around your body trying to get warmer. You’ve had a fever and chills all morning and Liam was getting worried about you. “Sweetheart, are you feeling any better?” Liam asked walking into the living. You looked up at him from the couch, your bottom lip trembling. “Hey hey, it’s alright, I’m here,” he whispered, pulling you into a hug, “I think we should go to the doctor darling; to make sure both you and our little one is alright.” You nodded, knowing he wouldn’t take no for an answer. “Come on then,” he said, helping you up off the couch. “Li, stop,” you whimpered, “I feel dizzy.” Suddenly everything went black and you fainted. A few hours later, you slowly opened your eyes and looked around the small hospital room. You whimpered as you tried to move, waking Liam up quickly. Your heart sunk when you saw his red puffy eyes and how he didn’t smile when he looked at you. “Li,” you whispered, placing a hand on your flat stomach, “please say we didn’t-” He nodded and quickly grabbed your hand, kissing your knuckles softly. “I’m sorry sweetheart, we lost the baby,” he whispered, holding back tears. You gasped and shook your head, your own tears falling down your cheeks. “I-I, no Li,” you sobbed, trying to push him away, “I just wanted to give you a baby. I can’t even do that.” Liam’s heart broke further at seeing you angry at yourself. He sat on the bed beside you. “Darling, please look at me,” his voice broke. You slowly looked at him, a big sob escaping your mouth. “I love you ok, so much and this doesn’t change that,” he said, trying to be strong but his tears started to fall. “Can you lay with me?” you said barely above a whisper. Without a second thought, Liam slid in beside you and laid down on the small hospital bed made for one. He wrapped his arms around your shaking body and you melted into his chest. You closed your eyes, feeling safe in Liam’s arm but something was missing. You cried harder, making Liam’s own tears fall; the baby that you and Liam had tried to hard for was gone. He kissed your forehead, “This wasn’t your fault and I will never think it was, ok. We will get a little baby one day. I promise.”

LOUIS:

Louis reached out in bed, eyes snapping open when you weren’t there. “Love, where are you?” Louis said sleepily. He saw the bathroom light on and sighed thinking you were sick again. As he walked to the bathroom, he heard you sob loudly. “Boo, what’s wrong?” he said, quickly opening the door. The scene before him made his stomach flip; you sat on the floor with thighs covered in blood, on a towel that was slowly turning red. He didn’t know what to say or do; you lost the baby, there was no question about it. “Lou,” you whimpered, hand on your lower stomach. He quickly knelt beside you, taking your trembling hand. You looked down, you face going paler as you saw all the blood. “Boo, look at me,” Louis pleaded, his eyes glossy. “I’m sorry,” you whispered, looking at his sad face. He shook his head and kissed your hand. “You didn’t cause this, alright darling, please don’t blame yourself,” he replied. “Are you in any pain?” he asked softly. You shook your head; the only pain you felt was in your heart, but he couldn’t fix that now. “Shall we get you cleaned up then back to bed? I’ll call mum too,” he said. You nodded and let him help you stand up and into the shower. Once you were cleaned up and wearing one of Louis’ tshirts, he helped you back to bed. “Lou, I know how much you wanted the baby,” you closed your eyes as tears fell, “I’m sorry I-I,” you sobbed. He knelt by the bed and cupped your cheek, gently wiping your eyes. “It’s not your fault, ok darling. Mum says is actually common to lose a baby during early pregnancy,” he whispered, holding back tears. “That doesn’t make this any easier. I don’t how to explain it but,” you swallowed thickly, “I feel empty without our baby. I know they were small, but I knew they were in there and now they’re-” Louis cut you off with a light kiss. “I understand love, I do. Let’s get some sleep, yeah?” He suggested, watching you curl up in yourself. He stood up and ran his hand through his hair, pulling at the ends out of anger and frustration. His tears fall as he felt like he failed you; he was supposed to protect you and the baby. He pressed a kiss to your forehead before climbing in bed behind you. “I love you Y/N. Don’t ever forget that. We can try again for our little baby, maybe now wasn’t the time,” he whispered, holding you against his chest.
