When the car came to a halt and my dad said "We are here" in a a supposed to be excited voice. I couldn't help but feel nothing but disappointment at the sight of the house. The house in front of us did not seem to impress me. The house, the ways it's built, the lack of space and the crowded neighbourhood. I don't like it one bit. Every house is right next to one another. They look the same, same building architect and same design. What in earth was this place. I am not sure about the inside of the house but I couldn't help but think that it may have looked the same.

I am not the only one that's seems to be unhappy about this place.

"Dad when I say that you have downgraded-" Julian said with bulging eyes and raised eyebrows and a gaping mouth to my dad.
"-I mean it in a so messed up way. " he pauses lost for words. Julian looks between the house and dad.
"Like what the fuck is this dad?" He finally finds the words to say. Don't get me wrong but I kinda agree with him.

My dad has a good job that pays him well. Enough to feed us and spoil us with holidays. Plus he was previously in the army. Served well so there must be something deeply wrong with him to choose this crappy house. Mind you my mom works too. She is a certified and licence psychological therapist.

"Watch your language Julian" my mom says with a stern voice. "Let's start un-loading the car." Well someone is already in the mood to be barking orders. While we are here trying sink in this sight in front of us. But we aren't allowed to express our feelings to the foreign place?

I wasn't given time to accept moving out and now I am being forced to accept this place. My hands form into fists and I stop myself from rolling my eyes at my mom. Dad seemed to have noticed what I was doing. He shameless just sighed and offered me an apologetic smile.

God now I feel like such a horrible child. Well I am really.

Horribly failing at my attempts to not be a brat, I notice that I can't seem to get my face to stop doing this stank face. It has plastered itself across my face to signify the disgust I have for this place. God the place seems to have WAY too many neighbours. I can already see some figures that look like they are walking their dog heading towards our way. Like why can't they just cross to the other side walk. Can't they not see that we are literally just moved here and unloading?

"Iman get that permanent stank face you have got going there off your face" my mom scolds me noticing that there are people coming our way. I can't make out the strangers faces but I can see that one of them is a woman and a man. Properly a couple. When they come closer, they stop and smile greeting us.
"It's about time we had new people" the woman says smiling and my dad. My dad extends his hand towards her and they shake hands.

"Ahh, now this is one welcoming place." my dad jokes. "Hi, I am George and that's my wife- come here baby-" He pints to mom. She drops the box she's holding and extends her hand towards the woman and they shake hands.
"Jamie. Please to meet you-" my mom says smile genuinely like she has made a new best friend.

"I am Freddie and this is my son, Hernandez" he extends his hand towards my mom and then shakes my dads hand next. Son? He looked like her husband. I don't know because I can't see. I haven't got my contacts on.

Then there is this awkward pause.

AWKWARDDDD!!!!!!

"Well this is a lovely area." My mom breaks the silence. Pointing her finger at the houses and trees. "We just moved here and hope to bring something to the neighbourhood."

"Ahh I see. Where you guys move from."

"Colorado" my mom says. Too quickly. I guess we are not the only ones that are sad about moving.

"Wow. Long way huh isn't it?" The other man is just standing there not taking part in any of the conversations. Well I guess he thought that it was only the women talking. Maybe he has the right to do so because my dad isn't taking part in it.

I may have spoken too fast because right after that my dad said something unwanted. Something that you don't tell stranger right away.
"Yh it is a long way. My kids here don't seem to be very fond of the new place" my dad finally speaks. Can't believe that he just said that. We have literally just meet them and he is letting them in our ife.

The woman laughs and says.
"Ahh bless them. I am pretty sure they will come around. It's a lovely place here-"
"Oh I am so sorry. I didn't introduce you them to you. " My mom says interrupting the woman. She turns side ways to point her finger at us one at a time as she introduces us.
"Juliann, Nathan and Iman" my mom says. My brothers shake hands with the boy and the mother.

As they were doing that, my dad noticed I wasn't making an effort to move and shake hands with people so taps his leg on the wheel of the car. Mind you as soon as I saw that house I went back in the house. Anyway, knowing damn well that I had no choice but to get up. I don't want to be on my dads wrong side and i also didn't want to embarrass my family.

I got out of the car and shook the woman's hand.
"Hi" I said smiling with my most convincing smile that I could come up with. The woman took my hand strongly. I guess my smile was working. From the corner of my perivial vision, I could see her son looking at me. After she lets go of my hand her son waves his hand on my face. Like what is wrong with him? I was gonna turn to face him so what's the rush. Couldn't he wait his turn?
I turn to face him and he has this word smirk on his face. Is that meant to be a smile. He extends his hand and I shake it. He looks straight in my exams keeps on smiling ft that creepy smile. I can't help but notice that he is young. Around my age probably with brown eyes. Not that it's import but I also notice he is the same height as me. Maybe slotted taller. I try to let go of his hand but he is still shaking it and so I get the memo that he won't let it go. I look at his mom again and smile at her. He finally lets go of my hand.

"We live right across from you. Down five houses. Number 53 so if you need anything feel free to ask us." Mrs Freddie's says that to my mom whom seems to be very amused at something that I don't know.
"That nice of you but I don't honk we will be needing any help" oh. That came out rude. Noticing the atmosphere change, my mom adds
"The house is already refurnished and all. My husbands family lives close by so they have already set they house with everything we need" what? I am so confused. Nana lives near by?

"Do you so happen to be related to the Marshals?" Mrs Freddie asks my mom. Omg. She knows my relatives?

"Yeah actually." My mom says nodding in response. "How do you know them?"

Mrs Freddie laughs a little. I get distracted from the conversation my mom and dad fall in with her by the sudden movement being made across my face.

"Hello?!?!?" Snap wave snap. I am really starting to get annoyed at this boy. I turn towards him with an angry face.
"What?" As much as I wanted to say that, I didn't. My brother Julian snapped at him. He just smiled and said sorry. To my relief I took that as my escape to freedom.
I walked away to the porch of the house. I didn't know what to call it since it really didn't have a Porsche. So I just sat on the stairs.

Told you. I was ANTI-SOCIAL.

I saw Julian and Nathan sizing up the poor boy. He seemed to be SOO intimidated by them. As much as I love them but sometimes they were just bullies. Even Nathan.
