Dearest reader, if you don't already know me, I am Elizabeth Topaz.

I will be the narrator of this story because Pete doesn't exactly have time (or the desire) to tell her story in all its pixie dust covered glory. (Seriously, that junk gets everywhere!)

So sit back, snuggle into a chair, get cozy in your bed, lean against a wall, or grab a seat, and let the tale begin.

Her name was Peter. I know what you are thinking, "Really, a girl named 'Peter'? You must be desperate to be different." Your question should be, "Why?"

Her name was Peter because her mother was desperate for a son, but she got a girl. So Pete's mom decided to name her the name of the son she desired. One would think that Pete would be a tom boy, while some of you might think, "Nah, to obvious. She would be a girly girl." Well guess what? ALL of you are wrong. Unless you guessed, Fan Girl.

She loved The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, The Heroes Of Olympus, The Maze Runner, The Selection Series, The Unexpected Fairytale, the Mortal Instruments, etc. She was obsessed with reading. You name a popular book, she read it. Now you are going to think, "How did she become Peter Pan is she was a Fan Girl?", and, "Why are you talking about these books in the past tense? These books are the BEST!! Why isn't she currently obsessed?"

Well, Dearest Reader, if you got an adventure like hers, and you realized, "Maybe adventures are overrated." you wouldn't be too obsessed with the tales of people being torn apart and put back together either. Trust me. I know.

Peter was a pretty girl of 15 years with strawberry blond hair that laid in corkscrew hair and emerald green eyes ringed with long, dark eye lashes. She often had her hair back in a braid or in a pony tail.

"MOM!!!!!" Pete yelled as she fumbled through the door, tripping over her feet in the process. Leslie Brown (Pete's Mom) huffed into view and flipped her raven black, perfectly styled hair over her shoulder.

"What?! What do you want from me now?!" Leslie yelled back, "I am getting ready to leave this dump and go on a date."

Peter threw her backpack on the floor, "Why am I banned from the library for never returning a book I never checked out?"

"Because books are ruining your face, and I want you to be a model like I was.............." Leslie threw an especially ugly look at Pete, "Before I had you."

"Well," Pete said sarcastically, "Why don't you tell me how you really feel."

Leslie came fully into view. She was wearing ridiculously high heels that looked like torture devices, shorts that were more like bathing suit bottoms, and shirt so low you could see the top of her stomach.

Leslie slapped Pete and said some things that would make a sailor's tongue look docile. When Leslie was finished with her rant, she model walked back into the kitchen while Pete picked up her backpack and ran for her room.

"How in the world did a man as wonderful as my father marry a woman so vile?" Pete often asked herself that question even though she already knew the answer.

Pete's father had been a photographer at many of Leslie's Photoshoots. Pete's father had been a handsome man who looked exactly like his daughter. Her father caught Leslie's eye and before you knew it they were married and had Pete. Pete was her dad's pride and joy while Leslie wasn't so thrilled. Leslie had wanted a handsome son in her footsteps instead of a girl, because boy models were in high demand and Leslie didn't want to blend in with all the other models who had become moms.

Pete's father didn't understand why Leslie was like that. He tried to reason with her, but she got angry and went for a drive. The next day, Pete's dad kissed her in the head and went to work like he always did. He didn't come back home from work. They found him later that night. He had driven the car into a ditch and died. A couple years later, someone had been investigating the case and found out that the brakes had been cut.
