Makoto x Reader - Cake in the Face

"I'm going to Makoto's party now! Cya mom!"

"Ok sweetie have fun and be careful!"

"I will!"

Then I ran out the door I practically bounced down the street. Makoto was one of my many friends and he always knew what to say to cheer me up when I was down, I wish I could return the favor but I'm quite poor so I don't have the money to buy him anything. Makoto always says that my company is a good enough gift for him but I still always feel guilty that I can't get him anything. I walked up Makoto's driveway and rang the doorbell. Makoto's mother answered the door.

"Oh hello Y/N! Glad you could make it! Makoto and everyone else are upstairs"

"Thank you Mrs. Naegi!"

I ran up the stairs and barged into Makoto's room causing everyone inside to jump, even Kyoko!

"Hey Y/N! Thanks for coming!" Makoto was first to speak

Him, Kyoko, Aoi, Hajime, and Yasuhiro were sat in a circle around a bottle and it instantly knew what they were doing

"We were just about to finish up a game of Spin the Bottle, here, you can have the last spin!" Damn you Aoi, damn you!

I sat down then took the plastic bottle in my left hand and spun it. It spun so fast it was a blur. Everyone, including me was staring at it intently waiting for it to stop and when it did it landed on... Makoto. Of course it landed on the birthday boy! I quickly shuffled over to Makoto and I gave him a speedy smooch on the cheek before I shuffled away again. Everyone awwed at the fact that I was redder than the ripest tomato, although Makoto was only lightly dusted with pink, I wonder why.

After we played a variety of video games Makoto's mom called us down for cake. We ran down the stairs as way and assembled around the table. Mrs. Naegi brought the cake out, we sung happy birthday and Makoto blew out the candles. Makoto was getting ready to cut the cake when Aoi tripped while walking past, causing the cake to fly right onto Makoto's face. Everyone was laughing, even Aoi who was trying to apologize between laughs. Honestly, Aoi's trip looked deliberate, like she was meaning for that to happen. I just ignored that suspicion, and started cleaning of Makoto's face with a napkin but he stopped me.

"Wait we shouldn't let this icing go to waste right? And I can't lick it off by myself!"

Everyone burst out laughing. It was at this moment that I realized what was going on.

"Makoto, did you throw this party to-"

"Yeah, I did. I didn't have the guts to confess to you properly so I teamed with Aoi to try and get you to kiss me.... on the lips. I should've known it wouldn't work"

"What are you talking about?"

Makoto gave me confused look but then a shocked one when my lips connected with his

"It worked just fine silly"

We kissed again as everyone cheered for us.
