Kyoko x Reader - Detective's Thanks

I sat, fiddling with my fingers, waiting for my friend Kyoko to come. I don't know what the talented girl sees in me but I'm grateful she sees it. She's my only friend and I'm forever grateful for that. Today was my birthday and Kyoko had promised to see me in the park after school... speak of the devil, I see the familiar purple hair now.

"Kyoko!"

"Hello Y/N"

"I'm so glad you kept your promise!"

"Of course, why wouldn't I?"

Me and Kyoko sat on a bench and talked for awhile. She talked about hopes peak while I talked about nothing in particular because... well my life is just a boring mess. Who'd want to hear about that? Eventually Kyoko said something that took me off guard.

"I have a gift for you"

"Y-you do?"

She nodded and pulled put a (Fav Color) box with a red ribbon on top.

"Happy birthday Y/N"

I opened it to find (insert object here xD)

"OMG KYOKO I LOVE IT!"

"I knew you would"

"You didn't have to get me this..."

"But I did, and not just as a birthday gift but for a thank you gift aswell"

"A thank you gift?"

"Yes, you taught me the true meaning of friendship"

"I... did?"

She nodded

"As a detective I'm quite reserved and quiet. I usually don't talk to other people and stick to my own devices. The only one I really talked to was Makoto but considered him more of an ally than a friend. Then I met you, after we talked for a bit, I felt comfortable around you, like I could trust you with anything, you were my first real friend"

Kyoko finished her story, for once her voice expressed emotion and by this point I was blushing mess.

"You being my one and only friend... I... I'm glad to hear that"

I smiled while still blushing, she smiled aswell but it seemed she wasn't done, now there was emotion in her eyes too and nothing on earth could've prepared me for what happened next.

"You also taught me the meaning of.... love"

"L-love?"

I blushed some more, and she blushed too

"Y/N ever since we became good friends, I've held a crush on you. Of course I hid it, I was afraid you would think I was weird and leave but I decided today would be the day I confess. I love you Y/N."

I sat there for a moment in silence and then smiled.

"I love you too Kyoko"

Then we kissed. Without a doubt, the best day of my life.
