She stares at me with something different hiding in her eyes. I keep staring back as I walk to a seat back in the classroom. Her face keeps changing into the motions of curiousness, nosiness and finally embarrassment as she looks away. What the hell? It was like all the things that happened an hour ago was vanished from her mind. “Are you okay?”, Liam’s whispering voice interrupts my thoughts.
“It’s nothing, it’s just that girl..” I explain.
“Oh yeah, the one in the front?” He interrupts once again. “You want to just rip her blouse open, don’t you?” That’s kind of harsh, but I won’t deny that was what I thought the first time I saw her. Only… did she change her clothes or something?
“She is fine” I reply quickly. His eyes tell me he is satisfied with my answer. “You should definitely invite her to our party”, he adds. I wanted to tell him to stop, but the forces pulling me towards her is too strong. “Fine” I say after a while, “I’ll ask her after class.” Our party? I haven’t heard anything about a party, but I guess that is the fraternities roll around here. Everything is so new, but I know how to party. I’m a little too good at partying, I remind myself as my mind travels to my past in England.
“So I take we’re having a party?” I smirk.
“Well, of course we are, it’s the fucking first day of school!” He says a little too loud, getting the professor and everyone else in the classroom’s attention. “Fuck.. I mean sorry.” He mumbles. “Well now you all know that the party is at the Beta's tonight!” He smirks and I can hear some people mumbling, others screaming “yeah!” while looking at us. The professor sighs; I bet this is normal on the first day of the school year. The Heart-girl hasn’t given us any attention, and I find myself wanting her to.
“You’re free to go.” People get up from their seats and the professor looks at Liam. “Can I talk to you?” Liam gets up and introduces himself. The girl with the amazing eyes is still at her desk packing her stuff. I hear my breath grow faster as I’m walking towards her. What? I don’t do this, I don’t get nervous. My hands turns white as I’m approaching her, I’m balling my fucking hands, great.
“Hey”, She looks up at me, wondering whom I am talking to. Her eyes catch mine and I keep thinking that her eyes are a little more golden than I imagined them to be an hour ago. “I’m Leah, nice to meet you.” She gives me a shy smile and reaches her hand out for a handshake. My knuckles soften and I meet her hand. A handshake? She is too polite. I look her up and down, her blouse is big with the small flowers on them, yet the jeans are somehow tight, revealing her skinny legs.
“I was wondering if you were coming to our party tonight?” I look at the ground.
“I don’t really go to parties like that.” Her respond kind of catches me off-guard, and I feel stupid. Her eyes are trying to connect to mine, I can feel the tension from her eyes digging through me.
“Well, there’s always a first for everything, right?” I wink at her, gaining my confidence back as I walk away from her.
“How did it go?” Liam asks.
“She’s coming.” I smirk.
