I watch as her face turns out in this weird expression again; her eyes are brooding. She picks up her purse lightly, eyes still attached to the pizza. She is trying to get a hold of the waitress, I think.

“What are you waiting for?” I try to get her answer to match her face, but it doesn’t seem to work.

“Excuse me?” My answer is confused.

“Well, aren’t you getting a doggy bag for all that pizza? We haven’t even touched it.” She laughs a little; the sound coming out of her mouth has some kind of uncertainty sticking to it. I do as she tells me to do and we leave. Her dad lives about 20 minutes away, and I don’t mind driving at all. Not with her next to me, looking so deep in thought. I wish I could just hold her hand, kiss her, and hear that silly laugh again.

“Can I turn up the radio?” She asks silently.

“I don’t know, CAN you?” I raise my eyebrow, teasing her about her use of words.

“Hey! I may appear as a prude to you, but I’m still from the south, ok?” She playfully replies with a strong southern accent and turns up the radio. A song comes on, and she seems to enjoy it; the rest of the ride goes without a word.

I park the car in the huge driveway and I feel the tension from outside the house. What is going on in there? I look over at Leah and I can see that she recognizes it too, her eyes are now dark, and I can’t read her face. I kind of love it though. Did I just say love?

“What in the world…” She opens the door, and a red-haired woman, or girl, stands in front of a man, his hair is grey, but he doesn’t look old. They seem to be fighting, and I could tell by their eyes that they were just seconds ago. The man looks at Leah with terrifyingly dark eyes. I guess that’s where she got them.

“Leah… I... thought you would be coming alone.” He looks at her, still with the same eyes.

“No, I brought someone, and apparently, so did you.” She looks over at the redhead, staring her down with dark eyes. I find myself looking down at the to-go bag we just got, and mumble something about finding the kitchen. I make my way to the kitchen, which is not too hard to find, even though the house is huge. I can still hear their conversation, and I am really good at eavesdropping.

“What is she doing here?!” I hear Leah scream.

“I wanted to tell you something, but she doesn’t want me to, because she thinks we aren’t dating.” Her father explains confidently. I can hear the female voice huffing and roll her eyes, and I can’t even see her.

“What…” I can hear Leah’s heart breaking to pieces. I want to pick them all up, puzzle it back together, and give it back to her, but something tells me I would just make it worse. I mean, this is the first date, and I don’t even know her that well. But I kind of do, still kind of don’t. I hear running footsteps echoing in the big room being the living room, assuming she went to the right as the result of me not seeing her.. I need to talk to her, mend her.

“Hey, mr. Eavesdropping. I’m William, but you can call me Will if ya want.” His hand is reaching for mine. I am embarrassed that he caught me, but showing my embarrassment would just get me lower chances at him liking me. Why am I so interested in him liking me? He seems friendly.

“Hey, my name’s Harry Styles.” I meet his hand and he smiles.

“Better run after her, she’s such a dramagirl.” He nods, and I keep thinking that he didn’t hear the heartbreak happening in front of him just minutes ago. The redhead smiles at me when I pass her, giving me a sympathetic look. I don’t know where to go. The house is so big and fancy. The white walls and all the windows make me dizzy. The furniture, decorations and details are all in black. I wonder if Leah or her father decorated it? They probably did it together, and I find my thoughts being jealous at the thought of decorating a house with her. You met her yesterday, Harry. My mind tells me. I’m still confused where to go.

“Up the stairs and first door on the left.” William answers my thoughts, and I don’t even know if I’m ready what is waiting to hit me.
