I know my own story! Pssht! Anyways, yeah, damn its been a long time. But I'm back and here comes a new chapter of The End. I know you didn't click this to just hear me rant, so let's get on with it.

*9 years later*

"Come on, Taryn, we're gonna be late again!" Ryan calls out to the same house he's been driving to for the past almost two years. He watches the navy blue wooden door with a golden knocker shaped like a hawk impatiently before giving up. Turning his car off, he yanks out the key and makes his way up the driveway to the door. Ryan opens the door, knowing it's not locked, since it never is until Taryn locks it as she leaves.

The scent of fall candles fills his nose as he enters the living room. Without even thinking about it he speed walks upstairs towards Taryn's room. Opening the door, the first thing he notices is her huge canopy bed, which is accompanied with her bag sprawled messily onto it, and Trevor, curled up in his usual ball of slumber.

"Taryn!" Ryan called loud enough for her to hear but not enough to wake her parents.

"I'm almost done I promise!" her voice rings through the hall from the bathroom. Ryan stifles a giggle. "You say that every day."

Shaking his head, he makes his way to the bed and stuffs the things scattered around it that he knows she needs back into the bag. A brush, some notebooks, her perfume. He zips it up and glances over at Trevor, his orange fur glistening from the sunlight. Ryan reaches over and pets his fur, letting the hair move in between his fingers. This causes Trevor to wake up and shoot a glance at him.

When he opens his eyes, Ryan sighs, observing how old and worn out Trevor looks. He wasn't a puppy when he had first met him that day in the woods, and now the years seemed to have catched up to him. He has droopier skin and heavy bags under his eyes. But that's the one thing that still has light in them; his eyes. They're the one thing time hasn't been able to touch, always they look happy and grateful to be alive. Just as Taryn's do.

Trevor starts panting happily as he sees Ryan. The two have been close, especially since they're both Taryn's best friend. Trevor shifts to face him and get closer just as Taryn walks through the door.

"Okay, I'm ready to go now." she says as she walks over and grabs her bag. Her long blonde hair that hangs to the small of her back flows behind her as she moves, and Ryan can smell the cherry blossom perfume she always wears. Her green eyes meet his as she stands there and tilts her head.

"Are you ready to go? Or do you want to sit there and zone out?" she laughs, turning to check herself in the mirror against her wall. Ryan then snaps out of it. Zoning out is something he does a lot, especially when he looks at her.

He gets up and pats Trevor's head goodbye, and Ryan swears he smiles as if to say it back. Taryn is now beside him and leans down at her dog. "I'll see you later, bud." she smiles as he licks her face. Ryan absolutely loves watching Taryn and Trevor be together. They both have this light in their eyes, as if they are both completely in sync. She stands back straight and smiles at Ryan.

       "Let's go, shall we?"

"Why aren't you wearing shoes?" Ryan calls after her as she walks out the front door.

Taryn wordlessly holds her tan combat boots up in the air and keeps walking towards Ryan's blue Chevy. This causes Ryan to chuckle.

Once inside the car Taryn stuffs her shoes on while Ryan starts the car.

"So, ready to go back to the shark tank?" she asks Ryan, glancing over at him.

"Not even close. I have this huge Chemistry test today that I am so not in the mood to do." Ryan admits.

"Oh please, you're a straight A student, you'll do fine. Unlike me, I can't tell you the difference between the periodic table and the pH scale." This gets Ryan to role his eyes. She has constantly put herself down even though she gets great grades and has very many friends. The exact opposite of Ryan, which makes his mood sink a little. Taryn is such a socialite and Ryan only has her. It makes him wonder why she's kept him around all of these years.

Ryan remembers when they were both younger, back when he was lost and alone. After losing both his parents and the woman who adopted him, he had given up all hope of ever being happy again. But when Taryn came into the picture, everything changed. She was there for him, and even though Ryan was more reluctant than he'd like to admit, he had grown quite fond of her. They did everything together, told each other everything. Taryn was the one person that Ryan felt like he could talk to. Especially since David, his foster father, has been utterly and completely lifeless since Susan's death. Ryan understood why... he really did love his wife. But it didn't help Ryan's angst or feeling of loneliness. He honestly doesn't know what he would do without Taryn.

"Anyways," Taryn said, tearing through his thoughts. "On Saturday I went to Lisa's party." she said as she played with the end of her dress. "It completely blowed. Most of them were drunk out of their minds and the place smelled of vomit and weed."

"I don't know why you hang out with her." Ryan mumbled truthfully. Lisa was one of the most "popular" girls in school. The typical and cliche one that thinks they're better than everyone else and doesn't like you unless you're kissing her ass. Ryan didn't like her, not one bit. Especially since she's the one who introduced her to Zach, Taryn's boyfriend.

Ryan definitely didn't want to think about her boyfriend, so he shoved the thought out of his mind. "She can be cool sometimes..."

He rolls his eyes again. "Taryn, you're cool, you're friends with practically everyone at school. And you don't constantly drink and sleep around with people." At that he pulled up into the driveway of Lane Field High, the student parking lot already filled up with cars and people standing around them or walking to class.

They both got out of the car and made their way into the building. Ryan didn't do very well in big crowds, he hasn't since he was a kid. So school wasn't exactly the best place for him.

As they walked down the main hall several people said hey to Taryn, and she smiled as she greeted them back. Hardly anyone to Ryan, not that he minded. He was very much used to it. By some lockers on the far right of the hall stood Zach, leaning against them. Ryan resisted the urge to grunt at the sight of him, knowing Taryn would be upset about it. His dirty blonde hair was wavy and stood up a little, and he had startling gray eyes. All of his features were that of what you would see in magazines or television. Absolutely everyone loved him, but Ryan knew better. Especially after he'd had a few drinks. The guy has a serious anger issue.

Taryn must have noticed him too, because she stopped walking and turned to Ryan. He looked down at her and she smiled, then reached her arms up to hug him close. He wrapped his around her waist in return and inhaled, breathing in the scent of her hair. "I'll see you after school." she murmured close to his ear. Ryan squeezed her lightly in response and let her go. They broke apart and he watched Taryn make her way towards Zach. Ryan caught Zach's eye, and Zach did not look happy. Ryan tore away, and made his way back through the crowd to first bell.
