I was having a bad day.
In the time period of about an hour, I had walked into three lamp posts, stubbed my toe twice on the same chair and somehow managed to walk into a window (don't ask). Yep, somebody was going to die today.
After the Hokage and I had our little conversation, he had Mask guy (which I later learned his name was Kakashi) explain to me the fundamentals of the village. Our conversation went a little like this:
Me: Uh, hi.
Mask guy: ...
Mask guy: What's your last name?
Me: *sweatdrop* I don't have one.
Mask guy: ...
Me: What's your name?
Mask guy: Kakashi
Me: Last name?
Kakashi: *closed eye smile* Just Kakashi.
Me: ...
But wait, you think this is awkward? Read on.
Kakashi: So are you planning to go to the ninja academy?
Me: Uh what-
Kakashi: Great! I'll pick you up at 7:00, don't be late. (A/N: How ironic ;)
Me: ...
And yeah, that's basically how my conversation went yesterday. So now, I was getting ready to go to a place I don't know. I know, the universe just hates me.
As I finished tidying myself up, I waited for Kakashi at the door of the apartment the Hokage was renting for me.
5 minutes past...
10 minutes...
15..
30...
45...
I was starting to fall asleep on my couch when a Kakashi suddenly appeared in front of me in a puff of smoke.
"Hello!" He greeted, flashing a closed eye smile.
"Gah!" I screamed, trying to punch him. Luckily (for him) he dodged it on time. Okay, this is getting old now.
"Ready to go to the academy?" He questioned cheerily, freaking me out a bit. He seemed a little too happy.
An irk mark grew on my forehead as I raised a fist, shaking it in anger.
"You're late!" I seethed.
Kakashi sweatdroped and scratched the back of his neck nervously.
"A black cat crossed my cat so I had to take the long way around..."
My irk mark grew bigger, "Liar!"
"Anyways," Kakashi started, laughing nervously, "Let's get to the academy, shall we?"
I reluctantly agreed.
"Great, let's-"
"Wait, wait, wait, hold on a second," I held both my hands up.
Kakashi turned back to look at me with a raised eyebrow. Or maybe both, I couldn't really tell since only his left eye was visible.
"This ninja academy thing," I laughed nervously, "it's not actually for ninjas, right?"
He stared at me for a bit, making me feel a bit stupid for asking the question, but surprised me with his response.
"Yes," he answered bluntly.
