Mapleheart was making a nest in the nursery. "Want help?" Mapleheart looked up and saw Rivershadow standing in the entrance. "Sure. Help would be welcome." She purred. They built a nice looking nest in a few minutes. "When are your kits due?" Rivershadow rubbed his muzzle against hers. "Claw-moon I think." Mapleheart settled down in her new nest. "So soon. Are you ready?" He murmured. "I'll be fine love. Just focus on being the best warrior so our kits will have a father to look up to." Rivershadow looked alarmed. "Why? Are you going somewhere?" "No. It's just I'm just a warrior, you need to work to be a deputy." Mapleheart laughed. "I should get ready for patrols." "Goodbye!" Mapleheart whispered before the pains begun.

"Is she okay!" Rivershadow was next to Mossfeather. "Only if you leave her in piece!" Mossfeather hissed. Mapleheart was in the nursery and kitting. The pain was nearly unbearable. "Here comes the first one!" Mossfeather cried. Mapleheart heard a small mew. "It's a tom!" Mapleheart looked down with love at the little gray tabby. "Here's another!" A little brown she-cat slid out. "Is that it?" Rivershadow asked. "Yep. A tom and a she-kit. Well done Mapleheart." Mapleheart sighed with relief. "The tom is Ravenkit and the she-kit is Stormkit." "I love those names. Life is perfect for them."
