Louise's POV

"Well... Pols. School was great wasn't it?"

"Totally." She replied, stuffing her face with the red velvet cupcake that I had made her for her birthday.

"But only when I opened my present. I'm so glad I didn't squish it... Properly."

"See? I told you that you always squish the birthday presents I give you. That's why I went shopping for a box that was hard to squish. I went to, like, fifty shops to find that box..." I said.

"Really?"

"Yeah. And it took ages for me to bake that cake... It just had to be perfect."

"Well, do you have any offspring's left? Cause these things taste like heaven!" I laughed.

"Do you even know what offspring means?" I asked.

"Not really, but it fit into the sentence. Oh and the show's interesting."

I shook my head.

"Polly, my dear, dear Polly. Offspring really doesn't fit into the sentence when you know what it actually means." I said.

"Well, whatever. That cupcake was the best birthday present ever and I want another one!" She whined.

"That wasn't your birthday present. When you turn eighteen a cupcake just isn't good enough. You need alcohol, and lots of it."

Polly's eyes went wide with fear.

"I was just kidding! I know you don't want to drink, because of..." I didn't need to finish that sentence.

Polly turned serious.

"Don't you ever joke about that again." She said.

"Okay... But you should have seen your face!" I laughed.

"It was priceless!"

"Well," Polly started.

"I was serious about the cake not being your present though. And yes, I do have more cake."

Polly finished up with her locker.

"Then what are you waiting for?" She said as she linked arms with me and happily skipped out of the entrance. Only to be stopped by Jessica.

"Oh look." She said to Thalia and Lillian, who were on their phones. The two looked up.

"It's the slut and her hobo friend." Jessica finished.

Thalia and Lillian snickered.

"Hey slut, what cha got there?" Lillian asked.

"Is that cake?" Thalia asked, grabbing it and stuffing her face. That gave me an idea.

"Yeah, too bad your so fat you can't eat it anyway." I said back. Wait. That didn't sound right...

I suddenly got a face full of pre-chewed cake spat at me.

"Do I look fat? Do I look fat?" She asked Jessica and Lillian.

I grabbed Polly's wrist and pulled her away from the girls.

Polly stared at me with a look of admiration as we made our way to my house.

"What?" I said.

"Do I have something on my face?" She laughed.
