Louise's POV

I felt like someone was watching me, and I saw a really weird Beetle around the corner... Freaky.

"So... When am I going to get my present?" An over-excited Pollyanna asked.

"Soon, soon. Once we eat the other cakes... But I doubt I will ever look at red velvet cupcakes the same way again." I motioned to my face. 

Polly laughed.

"Sure you will. Just don't think about the aftermath and think about the fight." Polly lightly touched my heart.

"In there is a tiny little ember. And that tiny ember will grow and grow until you can fight for yourself." She wiped away a fake tear.

"I've raised you so well."

I laughed.

"Yes you have."

"As long as you lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-love me."

"Oh shoot." Polly said.

'Dad?' I mouthed.

"Probably" She whispered as she answered the phone.

"Uh... Hi!" She said.

"Oh, sorry... Dad." Polly was shaking. Her voice sounded weak and fragile. Where was all that fight she was talking about earlier?

"Yeah... I'll um... Be right there." She had to sit down. I stared at her pale face. I didn't know her dad scared her this much.

"I was just with Loui- My friend." Polly was trying to protect me.

"Yes... I'll come home straight away." She said and waited for the phone to hang up.

"Bring a cake tomorrow... Okay?"

"Okay." I replied as I hugged her.

"Good luck." I whispered.

Polly gave me a small smile and walked back the way we came.

So much for the sleepover I had planned. We hadn't had a proper one in ages because of her dad. I'd asked her mum and she had agreed to the sleepover. Another day... Maybe. It took me ages to set up this one.

I turned the corner.

Louis' POV

"She's coming around the corner guys. Is everything ready?"

"Yes."

"Then we start the plan."

I don't think anyone wanted to do this...

As soon as I turned the corner I knew something was wrong. The black Beetle was still parked there, and now there was a guy dressed in a lot of back. He came towards me.
