The Hell Hole known as School

Hey!

I just wanted to say that I don't mean for the chapter name to be offensive. Personally I love school. This chapter name is just based on the opinion of the main character, Louise. Since Louise is bullied, she thinks that school is horrible and meaningless.

I honestly do not mean to offend anyone or any school, I will rename the chapter when I think of a better name. If anyone has any suggestions they can comment the chapter name...

THANKS!

Homeroom was as normal. Name calling, throwing bits of paper at the loser, see if she reads your notes. Just your typical homeroom... Or is it?

I often wonder what homeroom is supposed to be like. Maybe there isn't any muttering, or people throwing bits of paper at the girl in the seat up the front of the classroom where she was allocated in year seven. Maybe it's different. Polly says she ignores homeroom, just waits until she hears her name being called on by the teacher (to which she replies "Here!"), then goes off into her little fantasy land filled with marshmallows, unicorns and purple daisies. I wish I could do that, but my thoughts don't allow me to...

RING! RING! RING! RING!

That's the bell that signals the end of this ten-minute hell hole, and the new, one hour one.

The sound brings relief yet fear, new beginnings and old ends.

School-renown Shoving Games started in the corridor, where teenage kids were being pushed to the ground and shoved into the lockers. Some guys even fake-died. The boys snickered at this while the girls turned their heads away in disgust.

I liked it. Studying the human nature. It was often my science assignment when we were able to chose our own. Mrs Tescience is very proud of me for continuing on my previous experiments, making them better and adding to my vast knowledge of the human species. The other students in my science class just roll their eyes. I don't tell anyone about how I name them, it would only make things worse...

My first period. English. In the library, or working on our creative pieces, expressing our true nature. Miss Zen comes up to me every time I hand in a piece of writing. She says I don't think openly, that I spend too much time focusing on other things to reveal myself in my work. That's the whole point, I don't want to be too revealing.

I got to class just in time.

"Now class, settle down. We're going to write an essay today that will take the whole lesson."

Groans erupted through the room.

"Now, now. Writing often expresses the mind. I want you to write a short story, four pages, on what life would be like if you were the opposite sex."

The boys wolf-whistled.

"Oh, look at me Thalia. My makeup was professionally done today. Do you like my hair? It's the latest style." Dean said, being a totally immature person.

The boys snickered. The girls just frowned.

"Why do we have to be boys miss?" Thalia asked, glaring at Dean.

"Because this may be the key to your soul, child."

"Hippie." Thalia murmured.

Miss Zen handed us four pieces of paper each and we got to work.

If I were a boy...

My name would be Louis instead of Louise. I would have a little sister, her name would be Louise. She would get bullied a lot at school, and I would help her out. I would love my mum and dad, and I would be very popular. I would strut around the school and fist pump my friends over at our lockers. We would have plenty of ladies to latch onto. Everyone would love us.

I would have four friends, their names would be Harry, Niall, Liam and Zayn. I would be able to sing. I would become famous. I would live in London. My friends would understand that I needed to be in London. I would travel the world. No one would stop me...

For the rest of the lesson I wondered if this was too revealing. I doubted it. It sounded a lot like those five dweebs that go travelling around the world. Yeah... they can sing, but I don't see what everyone finds so appealing about them. Everyone says their hot, but I don't think that. It took me fifteen minutes to decide if my half a page essay was good enough to give to Miss Zen. I decided it was fine.

Ring! Ring! Ring! Ring!

"Class hand me your work or leave it on the desk."

A bunch of papers were thrown at Miss Zen. I helped her pick them up and slid mine in between some of the papers.

"Thankyou Miss Pansy. I appreciate your help." Miss Zen said.

I hated being called Miss Pansy. Pansy is my last name, but it doesn't sound right. Louise Pansy. I don't feel like a Pansy, I feel like someone else. It's like I don't belong in this family. My mum and dad don't really talk to me much. Max does, but I think that's just because he's younger than me and doesn't need to hide his words, because with Max, there's never anything to hide. Mum and Dad though, I feel like they're full of secrets that they chose not to tell us... especially me.

"You better get going to your next class, Louise. Don't want to be late." Miss Zen smiled warmly. I just nodded slightly and walked towards the door, grabbing my books along the way.

The corridor was already empty. I shuffled towards my science class.

Once I got there, I opened the door. Mrs Tescience stared at me.

"Um... I'm sorry I'm late Mrs Tescience."

"That's okay. Take your seat Miss Pansy."

I shuffled past Polly, who briefly locked her gaze with mine in a friendly manner. I went to sit next to Tim, a dorky straight A student. At least I was with him and not someone worse. I just wish Polly had gotten here first and sat next to me instead...

Lillian stuck her foot out and I tripped over it. Nine tenths of the class laughed and snickered at me. The only people who didn't were Polly, Mark and I. I shuffled over to my seat next to Mark.

Mrs Tescience started talking about chemical reactions. I started to write down study notes because we will probably have a quiz on this when I heard Lillian talking to Thalia.

"Did you hear? I just got onto twitter and everyone's saying that One Direction is in Sydney." She let out a hushed squeal.

"Isn't that exciting?"

"No way!" Thalia gushed.

"Yes way! I'm so stalking them this afternoon."

"OMG! Me too!"

"Shush!" Mrs Tescience said with annoyance.

Lillian rolled her eyes.

"Meet me at my house this afternoon. We are going to meet them!" Thalia squealed.

"Totes. Meet you there babe." Lillian said as the bell rang and everyone made a dash for the door.

Two periods down, three to go.
