I glared at the aproaching yellow school bus.

How I hate the colour yellow.

"I couldn't agree with you more"

As the bus pulled up and the doors opened, I stepped inside and took in a deep breath.

I wish I hadn't.

It smelled of old socks and rotten eggs.

"Don't forget the musk"

I rolled my eyes. And Musk.

"Much better" Daemon said.

'Hush!' I thought making my way to an empty seat where no students were sitting. Taking a seat, I picked up the headphones around my neck and placed them over my ears, blocking out the sound of noisy chattering parrots -sorry- teenagers.

"Good one." Daemon said with a chuckle. I growled under my breath.

'Daemon! You said you wouldn't annoy me today!' I thought turning up my music.

"I'm sorry, I had nothing better to do." He replied coldly.

I sighed. Of course he wouldn't. He's stuck inside a . . . something . . . and since I'm not old enough, I can't find him just yet.

Yeah, he's told me everything these past seventeen years.

To sum it up, he's a dragon that has been waiting for his Rider, Me, for over a millenia. According to him, he thinks he's the last Dragon in existence thanks to the Hunters. Obviously, the hunters hunt Dragons. Daemon is . . . . Well he's like a big brother to me. I long to meet him, and he says that when I turn eighteen, which is in four days, I will feel a pull and be able to find him.

'Sorry.' I reply. I'm answered with a sigh.

Listening more intently to 'Let's Get Ridiculous' by 'Redfoo', I would have been whacked in the head if Daemon hadn't suddenly roared "Duck!" in my head.

Quickly ducking, I saw the girl in front of me, Leah I think, get whacked in the back of her head by a tennis ball, which made her squeal in surprise and grip the back of her head while turning and glaring at someone behind me. Looking back, I see 'The Group'. They're all laughing and pointing in my direction.

"Werewolves" Daemon hissed. I could pretty much see him rolling his eyes. Yeah, didn't you know? Werewolves exist. Dragons have existed for longer, but Weres still think that they're 'All that'. Daemon has told me that Vamps exist too, but I've never met one. My school is crawling with Weres though.

We do have a trait like them though, we can communicate through each others minds and feel what the other feels, unless we tune them out. I can only do it on rare occasions while Daemon can do it with ease.

"Don't try and be friends with any of them. Avoid them. Do you hear me Maddie?" Daemon had said seriously the first time I had seen one. "Some are just so vile, that they would kill their own family for power." He had said with disgust.

'Don't worry Daem, I will.' I had reasurred, using my nickname for him.

He growled in my head which brought me back to reality, so I scrunched up my face in confusion, that was until a hand gripped my shoulder. I jumped at the contact and flinched away from them.

The hand belonged to a beautiful blonde girl, Jessica. Her hair fell in waves to her waist, while she stood there with a smug expression, she would be prettier if she layed off the makeup. Looking her up and down, she was wearing a green tube top that showed off her slim stomach and belly button piercing, followed by faded green short shorts, that looked more like underwear than shorts. The green outfit was completed with fluro green high heels. God, my eyes ached at just glancing at her!
