Moving in

I moved into a small town on the west coast by the name of Whiteshadow.  I sensed that there was hope in this new town, not like my home town.
"Master Damian, we are approaching your new place." I heard Credri, my families butler, say whilst driving.
"I'm not going to greet the new family nicely." I replied, turning my head towards the window to see rows of houses and narrow roads.
"People are not all bad Master Damian. I know it's hard to deal with the loss but please, try and be kind."
"Easy for you to say. You get to leave and return when needed, I don't. I have to stay in a house full of humans and live with them."

I  hated humans. Nothing good came out of them. They were a pointless species to walk this Earth.
"Just don't drink them. They have done nothing to us except help. I don't want to get a call stating that you have done something wrong."
"Why am I the only one coming to this town?" I had brothers and a sister, yet, they weren't coming with me. I wanted to know why I was the only one.
"Master Felix is out of the area, helping others in need, Master Jonah is living on campus at his university and Mistress Graenia is having her wounds treated after the attack."
"I bet she's going to stay somewhere else."
"At this point they don't know if she's going to wake up Master." Graenia was pulled over to the side and was taken into the back room of our house and had whatever done to her. We don't know and my brothers haven't been home to realise any of this. Our parents were taken somewhere that, I think, resembled a cell. I had never seen our species being treated so cruelly.

The rest of the ride was a quiet one as Credri was not bothering to talk with me anymore. To be honest, I would like to keep my relationship with him on a low because of certain reasons. Credri was in his late thirties and had served my family for six generations. Our species don't show any sign of aging and Credri, for all I know, could be one hundred and fifty years old. His hair was always a stone white colour and he was more pale than any other of our species. He wore a black suit to show where he stood like all the other butlers and he was roughly around five foot eleven.
"Just one thing I will say before we arrive, don't show these people your eyes. They are not used to the colour of them. Yours are the worst in the family." he said.
"What do you mean 'yours are the worst'? My eyes are fine." I snapped back at him.
"Red eyes in the human world is rare and frowned upon. You have natural red eyes as well as the vampiric red eyes."
"Red eyes are the best. I'm not listening to you anymore." I ignored him when he did try to speak to me. I want nothing to do with Credri.

Credri drove up to the driveway and the car was set into Park. I went to the back of the car to retrieve my belongings and I saw a pair of sunglasses being waved in my face.
"I don't need them. I don't even go into the sun." I replied angrily and push them out of my face.
"This is to hide your eyes Master." Credri was pushing me over wits end right then.
"These people can get used to my eyes. I'm not wearing them."
"Your mother told me to have you wear them if this was to ever occur. You don't want to disobey her do you?" I couldn't believe he had the nerve to bring her up. I reluctantly took the sunglasses and put them over my eyes.
"This isn't working." I said and took them off.
"What is the problem Master Damian?" Credri asked as if he doesn't already know the issue.
 "I can't see. I wear glasses for a reason."
"Then wear the coloured contacts that I placed in your bag once you get in the house. It'll be less suspicious then."
"Can we just go?" Credri walked over to their house as I followed behind him with the ridiculous sunglasses on.

I was a vampire and I couldn't see very well. I was the weakest out of my fellow comrades and I really didn't care as I wasn't much of a fighter with other vampires. My speciality was werewolves. They were stronger than humans and some other vampires that were being fought against, I know, but they were easier to escape from. I jumped into tree after tree and they couldn't reach me. I had fun teasing them and messing with them. I earned the name of Dark Cendamas due to reason that I don't even know. Credri didn't like me being in that group of guys and tried to make me leave when I invited them over and we got the house trashed. As for not seeing very well, it's rare for vampires to get that where I'm from. Same goes for me having red eyes either way. I have been seen as a threat to most other vampires and my parents didn't like that. I was told it was because of my red eyes that I had bad eye sight. I chose not to believe them and moved on, living a somewhat of a normal life.

Credri knocked on the door and after a few seconds of waiting outside, the door opened and we were invited inside the house almost immediately and I ran straight for the bathroom so I could take these sunglasses off.
"Master Damian! At least greet these people!" Credri called out to me.
"I'll be back in a few!" I shouted at him. I was used to wearing the contacts as I used to have them in before for formal events held by my parents, to go to school and to just go outside in.  Only my family and Credri know that I have red eyes and remember it as we never saw much others outside without me not having them in. I was used to putting the contacts in, so I finished quickly, and I went down the hallway slowly to avoid seeing them. I don't know how he can accept them taking care of me. I don't do a bad job on my own and Credri would be there so, why send me to live with humans?

I reached the kitchen soon after and entered to see Credri there, in a seat, talking with the people I'm staying with from this day forward.
"What were you doing Master Damian?" he asked me in a flat tone.
"Sorting things out that are nothing to do with you." I replied and sit in the seat next to him and don't really listen to there conversation. I sat there mainly to be somewhat polite and to see when Credri leaves so I can not be around them for long. Little to my surprise, they started to have a few drinks for some stupid reason. They were talking for two hours straight.
"Where are the other boys that are usually with you?" she asked. Credri could have left two hours ago. I thought.
"Master Felix left to help others in more lands across the country and Master Jonah is living on campus at his university. There was an addition to the family with Mistress Graenia who unfortunately can't be here at the moment." Credri replied. Why tell them that? I thought again.
 "What happened to her?"
"She was in an accident and is currently in the hospital seeking treatment for the injuries inflicted on her."
"I had no idea." I had enough of hearing about my family.
"Where's the room I'll be staying in? I hardly slept last night." I lied about being tired.
"Down the hall. It's the second door on the left."
"Thanks." I didn't even know where the male was and didn't actually mind not having him here. I never really had my father there and looked up to Felix, who was two years older than me. Jonah had it hard as he was the oldest out of all of us. My mother worked twice as hard to look after us.

I got up off the seat and followed the simple directions. I came to the room I was staying at and saw nothing really that exciting. Looks like I'll have to sneak out every night. I thought as I walked over to the small bed in the corner of the small room. I wasn't happy about this but, I have to live somewhere as I'm not allowed in my own house anymore, for some other reason that's being kept a secret from me. I really don't know why. I wished I was still in the car as I heard the engine roar to life and speed away from this place.

Hello new life. I was not looking forward to school the next day.
