------------------------------------------------------------------

The inside was large compared to the shape of the building outside. How is something like this possible? I wondered as we walked further in and took in the surroundings. I have to ask Felix how this is possible to build. We stopped in front of a doorway.

"Felix will see you in here when he's ready." Cecil said before leaving me alone in front of the door.
"Do I enter?" I asked just before he left.
"Yes." he left after saying that. I never did get that guy. He never seemed to like conversation with me. Even when he called that girl over, it appeared to be a chore. I could tell from the moment of seeing him; he only respected my brother.

I entered the room to see other people dressed in black and they were all standing in a circle. Why are they standing in a circle? I thought. To make matters worse, for me, it was as if the read my mind.
"We stand in a circle for a sign of respect to our leader." one of them on my left said.
"A sign of respect?" I asked, confused.
"Yes. It shows him that he has our full attention. That's why it's a sign of respect, young master." another one said from the right this time.
"Why did you call me young master?"
"Our leader said that he wants you to work here with him, that is, if it's alright with you." one from in front of me said.
"I wouldn't mind working here but, why don't one of you just talk? Wouldn't it be easier than one of you talking to answer different questions?"
"We are instructed to answer one question. That is why." they all said at the same time which kind of creeped me out a bit.

The door opened behind me again and my brother and the girl from before stepped in together. Why didn't he get himself checked out first? Wouldn't that make more sense? I thought as they both approached me.
"Dawn, you can go back if you want." Felix said as the girl came up to me.
"If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to hear what happened too." she spoke in a delicate and quiet voice, almost unable to hear her. Reminded me of Graenia in a way.
"I don't have any issue with it but, are you sure? This involves things concerning family. I don't want you upset."
"I have to deal with it at some point. Why not now?" she looked over at me, "I take it this is your brother you were talking about?"
"Yeah, that's Damian. He'll be going back after he hears the rest of the story."

Dawn approached me slowly and stopped about five feet away from me. Her eyes were a cold blue, I could now see it was actually ash blonde and not regular blonde. She was thin and not as short as what I thought she was. She did look around 5'3, but closer she looks about 5'5. She stared at me, straight in the eyes no less, and then, as if out of the blue, smiled at me.
"He's similar to how you described him to be," she said in her quiet whisper of a voice, "I just thought he would have been taller." did she have to say it in that quiet-sounding voice?
"Heh, Damian hasn't really grown yet. Hopefully he does soon." Felix said as he approached us and waved his hand; as if to say that everyone else in the room is dismissed. Everyone left in a single file, hardly making a sound to add on top of that magic hand thing to send them on their way.
"Now that they've gone, I'll start the story," he did end up giving a warning beforehand, "Dawn, you can leave if this starts bringing back some unpleasant memories."
"I know. I need to get over the past in some way." Dawn said looking directly at my brother, dead in the eye. Dawn kneeled down and I kneeled down as well, out of respect.
"Alright. I went back after the message finally reached me. I could only take Cecil with me, despite a lot of the people here wanting to go and help me. We started to approach the town when we saw smoke coming from town hall. I couldn't wait for the vehicle to reach a stop and decided to jump out. Luckily, we were only going at about 30km/h, so I didn't get that injured. I stopped in front of town hall and looked at it with sheer horror. I remember thinking who could've done this and then ran straight to where our house was."
 "Was?" I interjected.
"Yes. It's no longer there. I saw the house up in flames too. Being the individual I am, I ran into the burning building to see if any of you were in there, I saw no one and was relieved. I went to where I entered the house and saw that it only had a small gap to return to the neighbourhood outside, too small for me to get out safely. The flames approached where I was faster than what they should have. It was against everything I knew about fire. The flames reached me in the end and I thought I was a dead man. Cecil luckily found me and started to pull away everything around the hole. That came with a price. Waiting for him to remove everything, the flames caught parts of my clothes and parts of my hair. The clothes ripped and, shockingly, didn't burn my skin that much. I was left with the black in my hair. The hole was made big enough for me to crawl out, I just managed to before parts started to burst into brighter and bigger flames. I can't remember what happened to Cecil, but he wasn't in my line of sight anymore. I lost him. I looked around for him, only to feel as if someone was holding me back. I couldn't move anything, at that moment something within me clicked as if it was someone of a high authority. I heard the shoes click on the ground as the approached the person approached me. He had this vile thing and, without any hesitation, he injected my left eye with it. I only remember that I was in excruciating amounts of pain. I think I got worried and that was the worst thing as everyone was turning on each other and attacking. I became an easy target. The same guy who did that injection made a fire circle around me. Everyone in the town gathered around before the guy vanished. With the flames dying down a bit more as he disappeared, I ran for the lowest point and barely escaped. I continued my search for you and, to my surprise, I couldn't find you anywhere. I sunk onto the ground, to only be tackled to the ground by our neighbour. I tired to fight her but she was too strong. She sat on my left leg and then repeatedly slammed her feet into the back of my knee on my right leg. She moved downwards, slowly causing me pain. Others in the town came up and then started drawing different weapons on my left wrist to remove my hand in the same painful manner. Screaming in pain as the bone snapped and the muscle was torn away from my arm. I was then left. Cecil luckily found me and we found a safe place near the car and I called you."

I had no idea all that happened to Felix. No one should have to go through anything like that.
"Felix, I think you should get your injuries checked over." I said to him, my head cast downwards.
"I will." Felix left me alone with Dawn who was kneeling next to me. Dawn was the first to speak as Felix left.
"I'm sorry about what happened." she said.
"I wasn't there. I fled the scene to Whiteshadow and hid there. I was a coward."
"Still, hearing something like that, it must be awful."
 "Yeah, it is."
"I better get back to my duties before Cecil gets mad at me for the second time this week." she stood up and headed for the exit. I want to ask her before she leaves.
"Why did Felix say the things he did to you?" I said like a complete idiot.

Why did I do that? I thought as she turned round to face me.
"Felix said that because of my family and what happened to them." she said, looking me straight in the eyes.
"Would you mind telling me?" I should have left it at that, I should have just dropped this. Why did I say that?
"A similar thing happened to my family." she walked back over to where I was and kneeled down where my brother just was. "Felix passed the letter to me to see what I made of the situation. I told him it was the same that happened in my town and he left. My family were in the same situation two years ago as what yours is now. My house burned down one night and I was the only one saved from it. I later saw my families burned bodies and was taken back to our leaders place. I worked here ever since."
"What about school?" I asked, looking at her instead of having my head cast downwards.
"I used to attend the School of the Mysterious. I don't anymore. The trip's too long for someone to drive there and back everyday. Instead, I get lessons on everything I need to know right here."

I never knew. I never knew something like this has happened before.
