Chapter 18

[Tinypaw's POV]

I woke up to Aquapaw yelling 'no' next to me. I flinched a little and looked to him, my eyes soft. I knew he must have had a nightmare. I wasn't having one. I was in the Dark Forest like always.

"What's wrong?" I asked him softly concerned for him.

"It's nothing. I'm just glad your safe. Can we, um, talk?" He asked turning his head to me. His eyes looked tired but worry filled them as well.

"What do you want to talk about?" I asked flicking my tail slightly. I was slightly scared on what he wanted to talk about but I knew he wanted to talk.

"Just about EverClan and the meeting tonight. Are you scared? I mean, just about everything. I am, that's for sure. I'm terrified of the other leaders. I'm terrified for the clans. That creature could come back. He would kill us all." Aquapaw rambled on. I looked to him and started to talk to shut him up for a while.

"Aquapaw, I am scared, but I'm also strong so I can push past this. You're strong too so I know you can push past this too. I'm scared for the clans. I don't want anyone else to get hurt but we have great warriors that can fight and protect you. They can protect us.

"I usually don't say this but, I can protect you. You may have been training a moon longer than me but I have been training harder trying to do my best to be a warrior with you. As long as I'm with you, I feel like I can do anything. I can fight a whole clan off if I had to. You are my strength and as long as you are here by my side I will do whatever I can to protect us.

"Aquapaw, you can get past this. That creature, just forget him. He cannot hurt you while we are in DepthClan. They protect us and are our home. We could never leave them. We also have MapleClan and TideClan as well as LilyClan and SmallClan now. They are all strong clans that will protect each other." I told him then looked to him. He just blinked his soft eyes trying to comprehend all of it.

"Thanks Tinypaw. That helped a lot. Want to figure out if we can go on any patrols together?" Aquapaw asked. Just as he asked that Creampaw and Heartpaw walked over.

"Not while we are here. You both need your rest. You have been through a lot in such a short moon and you need your strength for tonight." Creampaw said first. Heartpaw stood next to her sister and nodded along to what she said.

"I agree. You too Tinypaw. We are not here just to tell our brother this but you too. You both must be exhausted and really you need sleep. We will not let you on any patrols until you are both okay." Heartpaw put in looking to me now.

"Okay, fine. Now go away both of you." Aquapaw said lazily swatting at them. The two shecats giggled and ran away.
