Mrs. Weasley called us all down to the living room, and to bring our Hogwarts letters. When I arrived, Harry walked up to me.
"We're going to Diagon Alley," he said. Diagon Alley. Harry went last year to get his Hogwarts stuff, and he said it was the most magical place he'd ever been to in his life. Apart from Hogwarts, of course.
"How are we getting there?" I asked, turning to Ginny. I noticed that her eyes were focused on Harry. Her face was slowly turning red, and her knuckles were white from clutching her letter so much.
"E-er, probably by Floo," she managed to answer. Why did she look so nervous?
"Floo?" Harry turned to Ginny. Her face turned a deep shade of purple.
"Yes, Floo! Floo powder!" Mrs. Weasley ushered us over to the fireplace.
"Guests first!" Mrs. Weasley said. She handed Harry a flower pot that was filled with what looked like soot.
"Mum," Ron interrupted. "Harry's never traveled by Floo before."
"Oh, right. Ron, how about you go first and demonstrate?"
"Okay."
Ron took a step into the fireplace and grabbed a fistful of soot, which was probably Floo powder.
Ron raised his fistful of powder and yelled, "Diagon Alley!" He threw the powder into the fireplace and massive emerald green flames erupted around him. Harry grabbed my arms and pulled me back from the fireplace. Ginny glanced over and looked like she was about to explode.
When the flames died down, Ron was gone. He was probably in a fireplace in Diagon Alley.
"Good luck at not failing," I teased, turning to Harry. He pushed down on my shoulders, causing me to sink to the ground. A pressure point.
"Take that back," he said, trying to hide a laugh.
"Okay okay, mercy!" I was on the floor bawling, and the Weasleys were laughing at us.
"Alright Harry, settle down and take some Floo powder," Mrs. Weasley said.
Harry's face slowly drained color. He stepped into the fireplace and stuck a shaking hand into the pot of Floo powder.
"That's it," Mrs. Weasley said, as Harry grabbed a fistful of powder. "Now, remember to speak as clear is possible."
Harry took a deep breath. "DIAGIN ALLEY!" The green flames engulfed my brother.
I started to get worried. He didn't speak clearly enough. What was going to happen to him?
"What did he say?" Mrs. Weasley asked.
"Diagin Alley," said Mr. Weasley "Hopefully he doesn't go somewhere too far away. Ann, would you like to go next?"
"Sure, seems fun," I replied. Mr. Weasley smiled.
I tucked my head under the fireplace and stepped in. I put my letter into the back pocket of my jeans and grabbed the Floo powder. I kept repeating in my head to speak clearly.
"DIAGON ALLEY!" I bellowed. I threw the powder into the fireplace and I was swallowed by the now familiar flames. I didn't feel any heat, and I felt like I was being squeezed through a tight water slide.
When I landed, it took me by surprise so I fell down. I was in another fireplace made of burgundy bricks. I popped up, brushed the dirt off of me, and ran down the stairs of the elevated fireplace.
The Weasleys, one by one, appeared. Harry was no where to be found.
"We should probably go to Gringotts first, to get some money," Mrs. Weasley suggested.
"Gringotts?" I asked.
"The wizarding bank," Ginny said.
We set off towards the bank. It had white marble stairs, and white marble everything. Right when I was about to go through the door, I spotted my brother. He was walking with a girl who looked his age. She had poofy brown hair that was a little darker than mine, and buck teeth.
Harry's eyes found mine. He shouted for us to come over.
Ron, Ginny and I both told Mrs. Weasley we were going to meet up with Harry. We walked up to him and the other girl.
"Where were you?" I asked. "And also, you didn't speak clearly enough."
"No duh, Sherlock," Harry replied, beginning to play with my hair. He took two strands and held them up to look like antennas.
"Haha, you should see yourself right now!" Harry laughed. I quickly straightened my hair down when everyone else giggled. I looked at Harry with a playful glare.
Ron turned around to see who Harry was with. His eyes widened.
"Bloody hell, Hermione, when'd you get here?" he said.
"Nice to see you too, Ronald," the girl said. Ron rolled his eyes when she used his full name.
"Oh, right. Ann, this is Hermione Granger." I smiled at the girl. "I'm sure I've talked about her before," Harry said.
"Loads of times, Harry, loads," I smirked. Does my brother have a...
"Don't even think that I fancy her, Annabelle Potter. We're just friends."
"If you say so..." I said in a sing-song voice. Everyone laughed again. Ron's face started to turn red.
"Alright, let's go back to the group and get some money," Ron said. He sounded like he really wanted to change the subject.
"Agreed," we chorused. With that, we headed towards Gringotts.
