After we got money, we all decided to get our books next. We went to a shop called Flourish and Blotts, and apparently an author named Gilderoy Lockhart was there doing book signings.

Ginny, Ron, and the twins rolled their eyes when they saw the news.

"Great, how are we supposed to get our books when a bunch of lady Lockhart fans are going crazy?" Ron groaned.

"Oh my gosh, we can actually meet him? He wrote practically the entire booklist!" Hermione jumped up and down excitedly.

"Quite fangirling and get on in before we can't," (I'm pretty sure) George said.

We grabbed one of our textbooks that wasn't by Gilderoy Lockhart as we pushed our way through the sea of people. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were already there, with which seemed to be Hermione's parents.

"Good, you're all here. I thought we lost you again," Mrs. Weasley chuckled, putting her hand on Harry's shoulder. Mrs. Weasley looked flustered, and she kept brushing off her robes with her hands.

Just then, Gilderoy Lockhart came into view. He sat at a desk with pictures of his handsome features surrounding him. I found that I couldn't stop staring at him. And those amazingly blue eyes...

"Don't even think about it," the twins said in unison, breaking my trance.

A petite man was taking pictures for the daily prophet with a big black camera.

"Excuse me," he huffed, pushing Ron out of the way. "I'm taking very important pictures for the Daily Prophet."

"Yes, very important," Ron mumbled.

Lockhart was smiling and winking at everyone in the bookshop. His gaze darted passed mine and Harry's, and that was when he saw us (and locked eyes with mine, *insert squealing here*).

"No, it couldn't be, the Potter children?" he said.

Everyone heard him, and gasped. They all looked back our way, making a giant part so then we could get through. Lockhart scrambled out of his seat, seized our arms and dragged us up to the front of the store. The crowd cheered, the man snapping tons of photos. Harry's face turned red. All of this attention... I hated it.

"Now, don't forget to smile," Lockhart instructed, flashing the camera his own blinding smile. "Together, the whole newspaper should be about us."

I immediately lost all respect I had for this guy. He is just a man hypnotizing everyone with his looks into fame. Wait, what if he actually didn't do the stuff Mrs. Weasley had mentioned on the way...

The camera man finally stopped taking photos. We tried to escape from Lockhart's grasp, but he yanked us back.

"My, my, this is an amazing opportunity right here, meeting the famous Potters. Knowing that they are the age of school children, I'd like to make an announcement. This year, at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, I will be taking the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor!" There was applause for us. "Also," the clapping died down when Lockhart spoke again. "these two fine children will be getting a copy of my autobiography, 'Magical Me', and all of the books I have written on my adventures. Free of charge!" More cheering. I felt my face turn redder than Harry's. I didn't want to be with this guy. I wanted to leave and crawl under a rock.

Just then, a man with brown hair and a hooked nose walked up with two complete sets of Gilderoy Lockhart's books. The weight of it was causing me to lose my balance, since I have no upper body strength. Harry and I walked over to the group. Ginny had a new cauldron in her hands, and Harry dumped all of his books into it. Hermione was staring at my books, and I decided to give them to her.

"Keep it," I told her. "I'll buy my own."

"No no no, Ann, you don't have to do that! It's fine, really-"

"I know you want them," I cut off Hermione. "Well, you want them more than me, that's for sure."

Hermione sighed. "Alright, but just this once." Hermione took the books and put them in a bag she had over her shoulder.

"Harry Potter," we heard a voice sneer. We all turned around. "Famous Harry Potter. Can't even go into a bookshop without making the front page. I bet you loved that, didn't you Potter?"

The voice belonged to a pale boy with platinum blond hair and pale eyes. He was glaring at Harry, Ron and Hermione. They were all glaring back.

"Malfoy?"
