Smack! Miss Leonard hit the black board with a ruler to get the class's attention.
" Now, let's get to work class! For today's assignment we will be studying GMOs. You will make a brochure on them and post your opinion on the black board. Then we will have a class discussion on your answers."
Stephanie mentally groaned and got out of piece of paper to make the brochure. She had already done this assignment at her old school, so this was boring to her however she needed to make a good grade in chemistry to get into the college she wanted.
Suddenly a girl that Stephanie had met, named Claire, jumped up out of her chair and screamed. Claire was a drama queen but Stephanie never thought she would get up in the middle of class and scream.
" My phone doesn't have any signal!" she acted as if she would die because she had no cell service. She stared at her phone but bug-eyed is if the "no signal" sign was the scariest thing she'd ever seen.
Anthor boy jumped up and said," I don't have service either!" The whole class erupted in screams that I don't have any service.
" Students all of you may come and put your phones in the technology basket on my desk. Well, everyone except Stephanie who didn't get her phone out." Said Miss Leonard.
"Probably because she doesn't have one!" Laughed Dylan Bila , the most popular guy in school.
"Dylan stop this instant!" Screamed Miss Leonard.
"But look at her, you can tell she's poor. Either that or she has a really bad sense of fashion!" Stephanie's cheeks turned bright red. She had nothing to contradict this because she was in a low income family.
" Detetion for you Mr.Bila!" Miss Leonard said very red in the face herself. A girl named Lavender snickered at Ryans misfortune which led Miss Leonard to say," Detetion for you too Lavender! Anyone else?"
A girl that Stephanie didn't know raised her hand.
"Yes Alex? "
"Why don't our phones have any signal? "
"The servers are probably just down. This problem is only temporary." Miss Leonard said comfortingly.
If only she was right.
So this is a story I've been working on for a while. I think you'll like it. It's a little dull in the beginning but the next chapter will be better. Thanks for reading and please comment!
