I woke up, feeling both excited and nervous about the upcoming events. It was the day that I would be doing my blind audition for the Voice UK. I was excited because it was probably going to be the biggest moment in my life so far. But I was nervous because I was doing something that had never been done on the show. When I auditioned, I would be the very first American-born singer to ever audition for the Voice UK. In fact, the only reason that I was able to audition was because my adoptive dad, Leon Sharp, lived in Cardiff. But I wasn't going to let that ruin my audition. Once I got out of bed, I changed into my audition outfit and went into the kitchen, where my dad already had my breakfast made for me: A PB&J with some water. "Thanks, dad," I said as I sat down. "No problem. So, how are you feeling? Nervous, excited?" he asked. "A little bit of both," I said between bites. "You don't need to be nervous. You're an amazing singer. I guarantee that those judges are going to love you," he said. "You're right. I just need to do my best and let things play out from there," I said. "That's the spirit. Besides, you've had your audition song memorized for a while, now. I highly doubt that you're going to mess up," he said. "Thanks, dad. You're the best," I paused as I finished eating and put my dishes in the sink. "What time is it?" I asked. "It's 9:30 am. I've planned for us to leave at 9:45, since the doors open at 10am," he said. "Okay. Once I'm finished getting ready, we'll go," I said as I went into the bathroom to fix my hair and brush my teeth. Once I was ready, me and my dad got into the car and headed towards the audition site.

When we arrived at the audition site, it was about 10:05 am. So, we didn't get there too late. Once we were inside, we walked up to the check-in desk. "What's your name?" asked the lady. "Emily Sharp," I said. After finding my name on the list, she handed me my number sticker. "You're number 9, so you two can go on into the holding room to warm-up," she said. "Thanks," I said as we walked into the holding room, where I saw 14 other people waiting as well. Apparently, only 15 contestants are allowed to be in the holding room at one time. After my dad had put the number sticker on my back and one of the warm-up booths opened up, I walked in and did a few vocal exercises and ran through my song one time. And by the time I finished, my number was being called. "You ready?" asked my dad. "Let's do this," I said as we followed the usher into the makeup room.
