Chapter 14

I turned and looked at his hunched figure.

"I...I'll deal with this-this addition to our relationship. I don't want to lose you... like I said, I love you and I don't want to lose you." I walked beside him and sat beside him on his bed. He looked up at me and I smiled at him. He smiled back hesitantly and I kissed him. I would have never thought that he would accept me for who I am. But he did and I am thankful for that.

" Do you mean it?"

"I mean it Sam, I love you and I'll try to cope with this." I hugged him.

"Thank you! I won't feed or drink in front of you to make it easier. I'll act just like I do now."

*2 WEEKS LATER*

Life has been so much better since I told Harry. When Harry comes over, we seem so much happier and closer then before but there's one thing that has been nagging me at the back of my mind since I read the letter from the day I told him.

*FLASHBACK*

I was walking out of Harry's house and when I came to my door, I picked up the letter from the vampire council. I walked in the house and called to Mandy. She ran down the stairs and followed me into the kitchen where I opened the letter, prepared to read it in front of her.

"We have a letter from the head council."

"Not another law!" she whined.

I sighed and said, "yep." I tore open the letter and read it a loud.

" Dear vampires around the world,

As head in charge of all vampires, I have decided to pass another law.

This law is to band all vampires from associating with humans. We do allow you to communicate with them but to band all other relationships.
Communication will only be allowed for necessary situations, such as at stores, restaurants, ect.

You shall not be friends, a couple or married to human or one of the variety of punishments will be done to you.

Friends: If you are friends with a human you will be taken away for 7 days, and you will be either whipped throughout the 7 days or eat human food for the 7 days.

Couple: If you are dating a human you will be taken for 3 weeks and either be starved, burned (you are not to die when burned) , or have your fangs removed.

Marriage: if you have tied the knot with a human, then you will either be taken for a year or die. If married, then you are most likely to be burned at the stake.

Sincerely, vampire council."

My eyes were a bit wide and I looked at Mandy and hers were to. Now what do I do? I'm going to get tortured! I'm not going to die which is a good thing but that hurts none the less. I don't want to break up with him because I love him and it would hurt to just do that. Shit.

Just then there was a knock at the door. I put the letter on the island to get the door and it was Harry.

"Hey babe!" he smiled at me and kissed me. When he pulled away he looked at my face more closely and frowned.

"Baby whats wrong?"

"Harry I'm screwed."

"What? what do you mean?" I walked to the kitchen and he followed me. I passed him the letter and he read it. When he was done he frowned.

"They can't do that." he put the letter down.

"Yes they can. The head vampire said so, and now it's law."

"Then what can we do?"

"I don't know. If they come to inspect, then we pretend we don't know each other and in public we can't show that we are more then acquaintances. There's vampires everywhere so we can't talk to each other."

"That's difficult. I can't pretend to not know my girlfriend."

"I know Harry, but when I'm home and you come over we can be together. Like I said, the higher vampires are always watching to make sure we don't break laws so when you come over, you are going to cover up." He sighed.

"Fine, I can do that."

"Thanks babe."

*FLASHBACK OVER*
