Later on, everybody went home.
Except KaPri, Aysa, Hennessy and Splat.
Me and the girls were currently sitting at the counter on the barstools, talking.
"Bruh, I still can't believe Aysa Jock girlfriend!" I said.
"Me either. If you don't mind, can you tell us how y'all got together?" Avery asked.
"Well, I was in the mall shopping with my besties. Well, ex-besties, but that's for another story. I was walking and on my phone at the same time, and then he bumped into me. I was bout to cuss him out, dead ass, then I thought, "Nah, he too cute." So we exchanged numbers and we started talking on a regular so, yeah. That's how we met," she said.
"That's that cliché movie type shit," KaPri said.
"Right," Hennessy said. We all laughed.
"Now I can't stand his dumb ass. I still love him though," she said.
"Hennessy how you and Splat met?" I asked.
"Long story short, I went to a party with Cameron and the boys, got a little messed up—which also explains my nickname—met Splat through O.K. and boom. We're here," she said.
"How long ago was this?" Avery asked.
"Mm, bout two and a half years, maybe," Hennessy said.
"SPLAT IMMA BEAT YO ASS!" Avery yelled, walking into the living room.
"For why?" Hennessy asked.
"She don't like when Splat keep secrets. When he do, it's hell," I said.
"We should go stop her then, shouldn't we?" KaPri asked.
"Nah, imma let them handle this one. It gets a little crazy sometimes. Hopefully this a lucky night," I said.
"Wait, Alaya how old are you?" Aysa asked.
"18 turning 19 in October," I said.
"Oh, me too. Not the October part though. I'm a Christmas baby," Aysa said.
"My birthday was last month. I'm already 19," KaPri sighed.
"Whew, I thought I was gone be the only 19 year old," Hennessy said, high fiving KaPri.
"Wait, how old Splat is?" KaPri asked.
"21," me and Hennessy said at the same time.
"Oh, I thought he was like 25! She said.
"Avery been in there a long time and I ain't heard no commotion. Now it's time to check on them," I said, getting up. They followed.
In the living room, Avery was sitting in between Splat and Sauce, her arms folded and a frown on her face.
"Somebody didn't get their way," I whispered to them. "What happened?"
"I told her to sit her ass down somewhere and she did," Splat said.
"Now I'm on punishment," Avery pouted.
"No! You can go to the mall right?" I asked.
"Ion know. I gotta ask him," Avery said.
Everything went quiet, then we burst out laughing.
"Nah, jk. Nigga I'm grown!" Avery said, standing up.
"True," I said, dapping her up.
"Y'all childish," Taj said, shaking his head.
"Look who talking," I said.
"KaPri you wanna come sit with me while we watch this movie?" Cameron asked.
KaPri blushed.
"I guess so," she said, smiling from ear to ear.
All the girls went 'Aww.'
"Hennessy you can come join me too," Splat said.
"Way ahead of you."
"Avery?" Sauce asked.
She nodded and walked to him.
"Aysa you coming?" Jock asked.
"No nigga," she said.
He smacked his lips. "Why you play?"
"Ight, I'm coming," she said.
I was the only one left standing there. Everybody was looking at me.
Trent was looking at me too, as if saying, 'You already know wassup 😏'
"Fine," I sighed.
Everybody cheered.
"She knew she wanted to sit by him anyway," Avery said.
I lowkey did, but I wasn't about to admit that though.
"Ight Sauce," I said.
"I'm fine with that. Let y'all know he mine," Avery said.
"Chill out," Splat said.
"Shut up," she shot back.
