Your POV
Evie found out that they use the wand at Ben's coronation, and now Mal is determined to become his girlfriend so she can be closer to the wand.
So now here we are in the kitchen making love potion cookies.
The last ingredient we need is a tear.
"Hey guys!" Someone says. I turn around to see Lonnie.
She sees we're making cookies and tastes it.
"No, stop!" We all yell, and she gives us a weird look.
"Do you... Feel anything?" Mal asked, checking if the love potion worked.
"Hey," Jay said. "The name's Jay."
He just flirted with Lonnie. I can't believe he just flirted with Lonnie right in front of my face. I mean, I know he's just testing if it works, and we're not even a couple but after he got defensive about Jake I kinda thought he liked me. I guess I was wrong.
Anyways, the cookie dough didn't affect Lonnie since there was no tear. She ended up crying hearing how terrible it is growing up in the isle of the lost, and Mal finished the cookies. She was gonna use them on Ben the next day."Oh, hello. The name's Jay," Jay said, flirting with a group of girls. Of course.
"You all going to the tourney game tomorrow?"
"Yeah!" They answered stupidly.
"Keep a lookout for number eight, all right? Scoring the winning goal."
"Okay!"
"Still a big flirt I see," I said walking up to him and leaning on the railing.
"Still beautiful I see," he replied with a wink. I had to admit that was pretty smooth.
"You just proved me right," I smirked and crossed my arms.
"You've been proving me right since the day I met you." He smiled.
I swear this boy drives me crazy. I would've blushed but then I remembered what I just told him. He's a flirt and is definitely just playing me.
"I came to ask you if I could do an interview," I told him, changing the subject.
"For what?"
"I write for the school paper, and they wanted me to do an article on each of you. The students voted you for the first one. Mostly the girls," I said.
He laughed. "Sure, but under one condition."
"And what's that?"
"We do the interview over dinner," he smirked. Did he just ask me out? Or maybe he just wanted to try Auradon's restaurants. Either way there was no way I was passing this up.
"Alright," I agreed, doing my best not to blush.
"Great," he winked. "I'll pick you up at 6."-----------
Jay picked me up 15 minutes early, so I wasn't really ready yet. I opened the door to see him leaning against the wall in a black t-shirt and jeans, with his leather Auradon jacket on his arm. I didn't say anything for a second and just kind of stared. I guess he noticed.
"What?" He smirked.
"N-nothing," I stuttered. "I just... Wasn't expecting you yet. You're kinda early."
"Sorry, I guess I couldn't wait," he shrugged.
"Uh, come in," I said. "Just let me finish my makeup and put on my shoes."
"Or you could skip the makeup and we could leave a little early. You don't need it anyways." He was standing so close to me now I could feel his breath on my face.
"Alright," I grabbed my shoes.
"Let's go then," Jay smiled and opened the door for me.
"Where are you two going?" Mal said when we passed her in the hall. She had a smirk on her face and an eyebrow raised.
"I'm going to interview him for the school paper," I said.
"And we're going to dinner," Jay added.
"Ohh, I see," Mal's smirk grew. "Have fun you two." She said walking away. Then she turned around. "But not too much fun."
"We'll see," Jay replied with a wink before looking at me. I just shook my head and laughed."Table for two please," Jay said to the host.
We sat down and I began asking questions.
"So, the questions are from the students. And the first most popular question was 'what was it like growing up in the Isle of the Lost?'" I said.
"It was alright I guess. I don't really know how to answer because I've never seen other ways of growing up to compare it to. It had its ups and downs but overall it wasn't too bad."
We went through a few more questions before we got to one I almost didn't want to ask.
"'Have you had your first kiss yet? If yes, give details'... This one was mostly from the girls," I said awkwardly. Jay was looking directly at me now. He was quiet for a moment before answering.
"It was... Sad but hopeful. Definitely significant," he started, slightly smiling at me. "It was with someone truly special to me, someone I've loved for a long time." By now I'd stopped writing and was just staring into his eyes.
"She was my first and only kiss," he continued. "And she means more to me than any other girl in the world. I've been meaning to tell her this for a while, but I've been waiting for the right time." He started leaning in.
"Jay," I whispered, barely audible. His hand was on my cheek and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. Our lips were almost touching. We were a millimetre away when-
"Here's your order!" The waitress said, approaching our table. We quickly pulled away and acted as if nothing happened.
"Thank you," Jay said, nodding and smiling at the waitress.
It didn't happen again. We carried on our dinner as if nothing had happened, completed the interview, and returned to Auradon Prep.
When we arrived we saw someone unexpected.Jay's POV
"Y/n! I haven't seen you all day!" Someone said when we got back to the school. It was Jake. Great.
"I've been with Jay," y/n said.
"Oh," he said, looking at me with disgust. I just rolled my eyes at him.
"If you'll excuse us, I have to walk y/n to her dorm," I said, trying to get away from this guy.
"No, it's ok. I'll be fine," y/n said.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah," she smiled at me. "Thanks for dinner. Goodnight." And with that she went inside.
I was about to turn and leave when Jake stopped me.
"What do you think you're doing?" He said. I crossed my arms.
"What are you talking about?"
"Y/n is my girl. I saw her first. You can't just come into Auradon and steal her," he argued.
"Ok, look. First of all, I saw her first. We grew up together. And second, I'm doing my best not to freaking punch you in the face so you better not get on my nerves even more," I warned him.
"Alright. But she wants me. You may not think so but I know she does. Just watch. She'll be mine pretty soon," Jake said before leaving me alone in front of the school.
I probably shouldn't have even paid attention to what he said, but his words hung in the air, almost scaring me. What if he was right? What if she did like him, and our almost-kiss was an in the moment thing? I needed to make sure that he was wrong. I needed to make her want me. I decided I was going to make her jealous.A/N I've been planning the flirt scene and interview scene FOREVER and it feels so good to finally have it written. I hope you liked this chapter. As you can see the story is starting to have more romance, and there will be even more as the story progresses ;)
