Mom scared me by opening the door wide open letting it hit against my wall, "Why didn't you go to school today?"
"Sorry mom, I didn't feel good." I said as I was flipping through channels on my TV.
"I saw you on your way to school this morning and you looked perfectly fine to me." She replied while still standing by my door way with her arms crossed. "I know but on my way there I felt dizzy and the erg to vomit, so I decide to stay home." I said trying to sound convincing.
"Okay fine, are you hungry? Have you ate at all today." she asked, now coming closer to my bed and looking at what I was watching. "Umm actually no, but I am hungry."
"Do you feel like eating pizza?"
"Yes, but this time can you get buffalo wings." She nodded and started getting up as she was leaving my room. While hearing her close the front door and turning on her car, I decided to play video games since I haven't in a while.
I selected my Call of Duty black ops game, and inserted into my console. Going back towards my bed I stopped myself and was in the mood for chips and soda. I grabbed what I wanted and was about to go back to my room when I heard a knock on my door. I looked at the door while walking towards it with a smirk on my face thinking it was my mom who must have forgotten her wallet which is something I'm not surprised when it did happen.
When I opened the door I saw Grace standing there looking at me up and down. I then realized I had on only my black Jordan shorts with no shirt but its nothing she hasn't seen before.
"Hey, Grace what's up." I asked her, still smiling. I opened the door more wide and asked her if she wanted to come in.
"Today was our final day to work on our project in class, where were you?" She asked softly.
"Oh shit, sorry I forgot about that. I didn't feel good today." I replied, rubbing the back of my neck. "I managed to finish it so it's okay." She said as she walked closer to me. I started to feel bad for making her finish the rest of it on her own. So I grabbed my snacks and offered if she wanted anything. "Water would be good." she said.
I handed her a water bottle and then went to my room. she followed after me and before I started playing I went into my closet and I grabbed a white tank top exposing most of my muscles but not everything. "Do you want to play?" I asked her while showing my other remote.
"Umm yeah why not." she said grabbing the remote off my hand. I chucked at her words as I gave her a grinning smile. "What?" she asked smiling shyly.
"Oh nothing, just didn't know you had an interest in gaming."
"They're fun I guess." Grace shrugged her shoulders as she said that. I continued to laugh a little and then went over to my bean bag chairs. "Alright let's sit over here," I said as I was waving my hand, singling for her to come.
"I bet I can get more kills then you." She then said trying to challenge me. I raised an eye brow and giving her a cocky smile. "We'll see." I replied. A couple of minutes into the game she cheered on about how I was losing and confronted me how better she was. I purposely was letting her win but not making it obvious to where she would know. "Alright, I see how it is." I told her while joking.
"Oh is the big bad boy getting his feelings hurt?" She said giving me a mimicking look. "Okay that it." I said, getting up and leaving the remote on my bean bag chair. I lift her up off the ground or in this case the chair to where her stomach was on my shoulder. I laid my hands on her thigh, griping it enough so she wouldn't escape nor fall.
"Let me go." she said with laughter as she tried to get off of me. I headed towards the bed and dropped her off gently and said, "This is what you get for beating me at my own game."
"What no... face it you suck!" she continued to laugh as I started to tickle her. At this point she was dying of laughter. I found it cute and didn't stop until she grabbed both my hands laying them away from her body, and now I was positioned to where I remained standing on the ground near off the edge of my bed, hovering over her body and making eye contact as it suddenly became silent.
I came in closer for us about to touch lips when I then heard the front door opening and Zuko barking. "I'm back Caleb, come down and get your food." My mom yelled so I could hear since my door was closed.
I slowly backed off of Grace and she then got up while still sitting down on my bed. "You hungry? My mom brought pizza." She nodded and I asked if she wanted me to bring her some. She said no and tagged alone with me to the kitchen.
"Hey mom thanks for bringing my favorite food. Also forgot to tell you Grace came by." I said as I pointed to her. "Hello Grace, how are you?" asked mom.
"I'm good and you?" said Grace as she came closer to the counter opposite side from my mother.
"I'm doing great. Finally I see Caleb's bringing a girl to the house. He usually is to shy to even talk to girls." She said while giggling.
"Mom really?" I replied feeling embarrassed. She made it sound like I had no friends. Which the thought of friends reminded me about Matt. I turned away and continued to pick the food I wanted.
"Here, help your self," mom said while handing Grace a plate and giving her a warming smile.
"Thank you." Grace said trying hard not to burst out laughing to my mom's previous comments. My mom then went to her room leaving me and Grace alone. The good thing was that she trusted me with whatever. She had talked to me about it a long time ago and warning me how if I did something stupid I would lose her trust.
As I waited for Grace to Grab her food I poured us both orange soda. We both then went to the room and I switched from my game to Netflix. Scrolling down trying to find a movie we both decided to watch "The Giver," which seemed interesting.
Half way into the movie I noticed Grace moving closer to me. The lights were off leaving only the bright scream in front of us. Setting aside my empty plate and picking up hers in the process, I stretched out my arm around her. She accepted what I was doing because she had her head resting on my chest.
