Chapter 10 'Your Gonna Live'

I opened my eyes to see Niall staring down at me, once he saw me open my eyes he sighed, like he wasn't expecting me to wake up. See, I thought to myself, no one expects you to live. I frowned and he finally spoke.

"You have leukemia," he said sitting up on the chair.

"I heard you talking about it," I whispered, closing my eyes.

"Mel you going to be okay, you will live and get through this," he said. I opened my eyes and saw him playing with his fingers, he looked up at me and got out of his chair. I sat up a little as he embraced me in one of the best hugs ever. I hugged him back and sniffed, Don't cry I told myself sternly.

"Where is everyone else?" I asked looking at the door. Niall let go of me and pulled his phone out.

"Harry is getting lunch for us with Louis and Liam, and Zayn is getting you a present." he said checking something on his phone before pulling something out of his pocket. "Oh, here is your phone," he said handing it to me. I took it and unlocked it; 12 New Messages beeped on the screen. 5 from Erin, 2 from 'unknown number', 3 from Melanie, 2 from Valerie. I sighed and went to the messages from Erin;

Erin: Hey! I haven't talked to you in forever!

Erin: Heyyy, are you grounded or something???

Erin: Uhmmm DUDE

Erin: Are you ignoring me?? what did I do wrong??

Erin: DUUUUUUDE I'VE GOT BIG NEWS ANSWER!

I laughed and decided to answer her back.

Me: Sorry! I'm in the hospital :( So whats the news?

I sent it and looked at the messages from Melanie.

Melanie: Hey

Melanie: Hey your all over the news you know, 'One Direction adopts girl, she's said to now be in the hospital...' whats that about??

I sighed, the ENTIRE world now knew that I was in the hospital. Fantastic. I texted her back.

Me: Yeh :( I;m stuck at the stupid hospital

I sent it and looked at the messages from Valerie.

Valerie: HOWS LIFE BEING ADOPTED BY THE MOST FAMOUS BOYBAND EVER???

Valerie: Duuuuuuuude Hows life?

I responded quickly as my phone buzzed again, I got a text from Erin.

Me: Terribl, I'm at the bloody hospital because I have leukemia

I sent it and checked the message from Erin.

Erin: Woahhhh your at the hospital? What happened? Oh and I just got accepted into a really good school that is like number one on sports in London, nothing much.

I responded immidently.

Me: WOAH THATS EPIC! CONGRATS! and yeh I have cancer :(

I sent it and checked the message from 'unknown number'.

Them: Found you Melissa, expect to see someone familliar soon.

Them: Oh I heard you were in the hospital hmm? I can go there to see you. See you soon babe

I shuddered. Who the hell could be sending me this? I thought back, no one. And plus no one could find my number, then all of the sudden I got really scared.

Then Harry came into the room with Liam and Louis carrying a bag of McDonalds. My stomache growled as I smelled the food.

"Hey, your awake," Louis said poking my cheek.

"You don't say," I replied sarcastically. Louis sat on Niall's lap on the chair as he groaned.

"Get off me you fag," Niall said pushing Louis off the chair. Louis moped and sat on the other chair.

"Hi," I said waving. "Can I have food now?"

"Yeah, I'll get yours out," Harry said setting the bag on the tiny counter next to the bed and grabbing stuff out of it. He got out some fries and chicken nuggets.

"Yummmmm thank you Harry," I said taking the food and stuffing a few fries in my mouth. Harry took out a few burgers and handed them to the boys before taking a bite of his own burger.

"So...." Liam said looking at me. "How do you feel?"

"Oh Liam don't even start that, I don't want you guys to act like I'm sick, I just want you to act normal," I said. He frowned and took a bite of his food. "I feel fine, everything feels fine," he smiled and put his food down.

"Uhh when do you get to go home?" Niall asked me.

"I just woke up, how on earth would I know?" I asked. Niall looked to Liam and he shrugged.

"Maybe a week, she'l obviously have to come back for appointments every few days and maybe have surgeries and stuff, but she will probably get to stay home though," Liam said looking down. "Your going to live, you'll be fine,, just have to be on medicine is all."

I nodded and put my food down, suddenly not feeling very hungry.

"Let's play a game?' Harry asked sittind down on the foot of the bed.

"Yeah, what game?" Niall asked.

"How about truth or dare?" Louis asked sitting up and stealing some of Niall's fries, Niall slapped his hand away and scooted over a bit.

"Yeah! Who first?"

"Meeeee," Niall said looking at Harry. We nodded and motioned for him to go on. "Harry," he started. Harry looked at Niall a bit nervously and ate a fry. "truth or dare?" Harry pondered a bit.

"Dare."

"I dare you to go up to one of the nurses and say 'Oh! I think I'm pregnant! Is there a doctor?'" Niall said starting to giggle a bit. I smiled and Harry sighed.

"Okay fine," he got up and Liam got the camera out and began recording as Harry walked outside the room. I heard the faint noise of Harry's yelling and Liam's laughing. I heard the nurse talking to Harry before Harry came inside.

"Did she believe you?"

"Yeah, she did for a moment before she saw Liam," I took the phone from Liam's hands and watched the video. Harry was grabbing his stomache and yelling at the nurse to get a doctor. I laughed as Louis grabbed the phone as he and Niall watched it.
