You hummed softly, piling your plate up with pancakes.
"You're still singing that new Calvin Harris song?" your husband asked smirking.
"Yeah, my way," you replied.
Gareth sighed "Sometimes I think you love him more than me."
You smiled, "Speaking of which, how about Adam or Calvin for a boy?"
Gareth groaned, you laughed."I'm kidding," you said, trying to wrap your arms around him, your stomach getting in the way.
He held it. "Hello baby Bale, how are you? Daddy can't wait to meet you."
You smiled, cupping his cheeks.
"Don't worry, we'll meet our baby very soon."
He smiled at you."You're right, your stomach is so huge," he said stretching out his hands.
You smacked him playfully "Hey! It's your fault."He smirked. "In a matter of months Madrid will have a new player."
You nodded "Even if it's a girl, I would love for my baby girl to play football."
He spun you around so that your back was facing his chest and his chin was on your shoulder."But I hope when she gets older, girls will get the fair play they deserve when it comes to football clubs," he said.
You nodded. "Female versions of football clubs are almost none existent. All we have to depend on are our National teams."
You knew exactly what you were talking about. Being a footballer yourself, and having played for your country at the Olympics."It's quite sad isn't it," he replied rubbing his face. "Anyway (y/n) I'm really tired , I'm going to take a nap."
"Ok," you said.Gareth's POV
I rubbed my eyes, realising I couldn't sleep.
Maybe I should take them. I thought.
I reached for the sleeping pills in my drawer and put two in my hand. I swallowed them, and instantly I felt my eyelids growing heavy. Really heavy. Very heav.....Your POV
"Gareth!" you were screaming. "Gareth! My water broke!"
There was no answer, you screamed both in frustration and pain.
He was clearly deeply asleep, and you couldn't climb the stairs. You reached for your phone dialling your friend's number.
"Hello (y/n),"
"(Y/f /n) I'm having the baby now! Gareth isn't available please get here as fast as you can!"
The voice on the other end sounded panicked
"I'm on my way!"In a matter of minutes your friend was at home and rushing to your side. She called for the maid who found Gareth upstairs, a pack of sleeping pills beside him.
She put her hand to her mouth "I give sir these pills, he not suppose take all at vonce," her accent sounding thicker than ever."Just get him to the car!" you yelled "I'm having a baby here!"
She helped a sleeping Gareth to the car while your friend helped you.
You arrived at the hospital and you were wheeled into delivery. You refused to push. "Gareth can't miss this," you said adamantly.
The doctors and nurses looked despaired and they all begged you but to no avail.
"Please Mrs Bale your hurting the baby."
At those words a tear creeped down your cheek. "Ok I will, for the baby."You spent the next thirty minutes in a very painful and unsuccessful labor.
Just as the pain increased Gareth burst through the door.
"I'm here!" he screamed looking wild eyed. His hair was a mess and his face was still reflecting tiredness."Now push (y/n), push for our little baby."
You did as told. You began to feel frustrated. You were so tired, you thought you would faint, but then you heard a loud, ear piercing cry.Gareth smiled at you "Welldone baby girl," he kissed your forehead.
"Congratulations it's a boy!" the nurse yelled bringing your baby over.
You took him in your arms as tears rolled down your cheeks.
"Welcome to the word my beautiful baby.""Welcome to the world Calvin," Gareth said.
"Really?" you asked.
"Really," he said kissing your baby's head.**********************************************
What did you think. Did you all like it? Thanks to the only three people who voted. It really meant a lot to me. And also shall we keep doing this?
