Calum's POV

I walk into the library and find her in the same place as always. Except today she looks different. Shes...happy? Almost like she's glowing and radiating pure happiness. I've never seen her like this and i must say I like it.

"Alena?" I ask. She looks up at me, grinning. Then all of a sudden she jumps up and wraps her arms around my neck.

"Umph" I groan at the impact. Then slowly snake my arms around her waist, chuckling a little.

"Who are you and what have you done with my Alena??" I laugh and kiss her cheek. She blushes and pulls away going to sit down.

"So I had a proposition" I look at her. She nods wearily.

"So I don't know if I've mentioned it before but I play bass guitar in this band and well we have a gig this Friday" I inform her. She looks at me curiously and nods for me to continue.

"Well, do you want to come see me play?" I ask cautiously. Her eyes widen.

"it'd mean a lot to me if you saw my first gig" I half smile. Part of me knows she'd never go but I want her to. So badly.

She reaches in her bag and pulls out a book. She sets it on the ground in front of me. She stands up and she walks out.

My head and heart fall. I pick up the book and read the cover. Demons by Dostoevsky.

Why am I not surprised.
