I arrived back at the office got my key to unlock the building, and then walked towards the elevators. It was quiet with the exception of janitors mopping and I'm sure vacuuming on the floors above, I perfer the silence that after hours brings honestly. As I rode the elevator up to the twentieth floor, my floor, I couldn't help but think of the deal, it's a huge opportunity and I'd hate to miss out on it.
I walked down the corridor to my office to see a piece of stationary taped to my office door with washi tape, Alice, she's probably the only person in the building that has personalized stationary and washi tape. I grabbed the paper and opened my doors flicked on the light and sat down to read it
It read
Hey Mr Morelli,
Mr. Fargo came by today at 12:30 and no one had a clue where you were. I asked everyone and sent you like a billion texts and emails, cause Lord knows you're always on your computer. I know this was super important, so I said you had a family emergency, Mr Fargo was understanding and rescheduled for tomorrow morning at 9:00 am sharp, don't disappear this time. I was still here at 10:00 pm so I could tell you personally but I got sleepy and I have to be here tomorrow at 6:30, so I need my rest. Have a good night .-A Morrero
From the desk of Alicia Morrero🐩Oh my goodness Alice saved the day. I honestly don't know what I'd do without her, she's the best assistant. I've gotta do something special for her. But what ? I haven't the slightest idea, I'll get her something though. With that I finished sending emails and typed the rest of the questions for tomorrow's debriefing then I was off to my penthouse.
Before I turned in for the night I decided to drive past Sweet City, just to see what it was like. I typed it in my GPS and then I was off.
Lemme tell ya even though it's really late everything is still going on. So I'm sitting in traffic behind all these taxis and then I turn the corner and there it is. Sweet City.
(Picture it at night time )I liked it, it was simple but looked amazing. Sometimes less is more, ya know. I kept driving then I finally reached my house. I had decided to go to the bakery tommorow to get some breakfast, and to see what it's like inside, cause they were closed and you couldn't see much with the dim security I lights.
When I finally got home I thought about staying up. I'm sure I could find a good movie or NCIS or something like that. I was still wide awake. I'm usually stay up late, not on weekdays but on weekends I go out and have fun, clubbing or street racing. I guess I should get some shut eye I've got that meeting tomorrow, so I went upstairs.
After I showered and brushed my teeth I just layed awake looking at the ceiling, thinking. I guess I never really thought about it or cared, but this house is kinda lonely, its just me. Maybe I just need a dog or something. How my mom was talking about us settling down and having kids was quite the notion though. I've never been one for dating, because when people see me I guess they just see six figures, but I'm a person, not a bank account. When we were younger my mom always told us there's someone out there for everyone, but as I grew up I thought it was a bunch of baloney. Deep down a part of me wishes it were at least a smidge true. Me, a husband, and dad, it almost seemed laugable, but it brought a smile to my face and thats how I fell asleep.
