The Baker {ON HOLD}

Chapter 6

    I met up with  my sister and we talked for a bit. She was suprised I even took the time to do so, being  it that I'm "married to my work". Regardless  she said it would probably be good to let her know I like her, so that's what I intend to do. I'll probably just ask her would she like to go out and get a coffee with me, should be easy, right?

Not today because I was a bit of an ass to her and the redhead this morning, but I will be there tomorrow.

I didn't have much to do since I left work, so I went home changed into something more comfortable and then I just got in my car and drove. No particular destinations I was just cruising listening to music, it helps me think without all the noise of the city. After driving for a couple hours I got hungry, so I had to find somewhere to eat. I drove up to this diner and got out.

I opened the door and the bell above chimed. I sat at the barstools and a woman came from behind two double doors and said "Hey, what can I get ya hun?"the woman asked. 
I looked at the menu and decided on on a bacon cheesburger and fries. "One of your bacon cheeseburgers and fries, please." 

"Comin' right up hun."

I sat waiting for my food to come out and then it did.
"Here ya are, and would you like anythin to drink."

"No ma'am, thank you."

" Alrighty well I'll be back there just give a shout if you need anythin." and with that she was gone.

I just sat silently eating and just as I was finishing she came back out. I gave her money for my meal and then handed her a hundred dollar tip.

"Sir, this too much, the meal was only twenty, you must've given this by mistake," she said trying to hand it back.

"Oh, it's no mistake ma'am, you've provided excellent service," I said smiling.

"Ok, thank you so much, have a nice evening sir."

"Thanks, you do the same," I said walking towards the door.

    I got into my car and pulled out my phone, 9:25.  Turning the keys and reversing out the parking lot I was back on the road to the city. It was dark and I was pretty much the only car on the road  I looked up and saw the stars, it was quite the sight.

I drove for a while and I finally made it back to the city. I wasn't really ready to go to sleep when I got home so I decided to go to my music room.

My dad thought it was important for us to have music in our lives  so we grew up listening to music and some of the classics. More importantly he wanted us all to play something, so he let us pick and when he came home he brought the instruments with him. My piano, Gina's cello, and Marco's drums. I  knew several songs by heart so I sat playing until I began to nod off. Getting off the piano bench  I flicked off the light and went  to my room.

Ceilia and I had just closed up the bakery and  were headed to our town houses. Then my stomach growled.

"Hey Ceilia do you want to come over, I'm ordering in and watching a movie"

"Yeah that's fine."

"Cool, so pizza or like chinese food."

"I dunno  decide when we get  there, I'm pretty sure I still have some Olive Garden from when we went with Stephen and Kenton."

"Mkay."

After driving in the late night traffic they got to their town houses.

They were sitting on Amina's couch catching up on Scorpion, eating pizza and drinking champagne  when Ceilia paused the show.

"Hey I was watching  that, you paused it at the good part!" I said

"Yeah, yeah I know but let's talk about today."

"Do you know who that was, the man you mouthed off to?"

" A Morreli somebody, he's irrelevant he deserved all the rant I gave him."

"Well "Mr.Irrelevant" happens to be number 3 on the Forbes wealthiest list and one of the most influential men in The States, all at the young age of twenty three ."

"So."

"Yeah, so, he can shut down the business  and have you blacklisted all in a matter of hours."

"Over my dead body, Mrs Evans left me the bakery when she died and I'll be danged if some pompous ass  ruins what her and her family worked so hard to build"

"Still, if you see him again maybe be nicer."

"Pfft, ok, maybe next time he'll remember his manners."

"Oh and I forgot one thing about him."

"No, I think you've covered all the bases, but if you were gonna say arrogant rich boy, then yeah."

"No, I was gonna say he's one of New York's most eligible and coveted bachelors."

"How do you know all this, you are engaged to Kenton anyway?"

"Girl please, you know pretty much everyone knows who this guy is and how cute he is, he's been on the cover of Forbes and GQ several times."

"He's still a arrogant  rich boy."

"But a cute one, even if you don't want to acknowledge the fact, "she said wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.

"Eh I suppose."

"Mhmm."

"Speaking of guys, you haven't been on any dates since Lincoln from NYU, why?"

" You dont know my life Ceil, I've been on  plenty of dates since then ."

"I know you, if you did, I'd be the first to know."

"Like forreal though I'm marrying Kenton soon and you'll eventually be an honorary aunty but you gotta settle down too.

"I've got nothin but time, I'm 22."

"Aw c'mon I'm gonna be the best aunty this world has ever seen."

"Yeah whenever that happens."

"You just need the right guy is all, someone that's like you, he's out there somewhere."

"Yeah, somewhere."

"Now, lets finish this episode of Scorpion, we've got work in the morning and I rise earlier so I can see the sunrise."
